“In the interview process, what people care about is [...] ‘Are you excited about this job? Are you someone I can rely on for help?’,” says Jerry Lee, co-founder and COO at Wonsulting. “Those soft skills are more convincing to hiring managers and recruiting teams, [so] make sure you focus on the softer side and being a person during the interview.” Within your preparation, you should practise how you articulate your personal story, and why it makes you a great fit for the role. “[Recruiters] want to be able to look [at a candidate’s content and] know how they are going to fit into this organisation. From a digital presentation, it is consistency of brand. You are a brand, you are building yourself as someone who fits into the organisation in a certain place. So who are you? Where do you want to be? Make sure it is consistent across all [touchpoints],” says Joy Campbell, brand partnerships director at Graduate Fashion Foundation.
