"Don't take advice from someone who is 10 steps ahead of you; take advice from someone who is 2-3 steps ahead." I once heard this on a podcast about entrepreneurship, and it really stuck with me. The rationale was the following: if you're starting in e-commerce, for example, Jeff Bezos' advices are gold, but are they really relevant considering your means? Sometimes the most useful tips come from someone who just started a few years ago and is already making good results. With that idea in mind, the Africa Association St. Gallen organized an event on Swiss Student Entrepreneurs. The goal? To learn from student founders who are just a few steps ahead of us. A big thank you to our amazing speakers: Simon Iyamu Perisanidis (ETH) Pearl Oti-Amoako (University of Zurich) Irvin Dalaud (EPFL) And to our moderator Noah Lauffer from STARTUP@HSG who kept the conversation flowing! It was inspiring to hear their stories and get practical advice for our own entrepreneurial journeys. Thanks to everyone who joined and made the event a success! 🚀
Celebrating Entrepreneurs from Swiss Universities with the Africa Association St. Gallen at HSG It was an absolute pleasure to moderate a panel featuring two inspiring founders and an entrepreneur-turned-investor from ETH Zürich, EPFL, and University of St.Gallen at the recent event hosted by the Africa Association at HSG. The discussion delved into the entrepreneurial journeys of these remarkable individuals, shedding light on the unique challenges they encountered and the best practices they embraced. At Startup@HSG, we are committed to fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs. A heartfelt thank you to the Africa Association for organizing such a special event and for the opportunity to contribute to this vital conversation.
