Google also makes a move to fundamentally jump on the ad-supported CTV boat and quietly released access to its Google TV network through DV360 and Google Ads (accessible to the US and Germany so far). So now you can buy CTV ads inventory across 125+ channels from different publishers represented on Google TV, also including live sports, full-length TV shows, and movies. And regarding the numbers: in the US itself, Google TV holds 20 million monthly active devices with an average of 75 minutes per day of content consumption, so some new ad opportunities on big screens are coming. https://lnkd.in/ex_e9YGp

TV brings us together — it’s one of its greatest strengths. Alone Australia is so much more fun to watch when you’re not alone 😉 But co-viewing also has implications for audience measurement. OzTAM’s VOZ, the trading currency that launches in late December, captures co-viewing on Connected TVs so you can get a true picture of Total TV's reach. When OzTAM introduced CTV co-viewing data in 2020, it revealed an additional 20% to 25% of broadcast video on demand (BVOD) viewing that was previously unreported (through measuring people not devices). Proper measurement leads to proper decision making. Reach out to find out how many of your customers are watching TV 📺👨👩👧👦 https://lnkd.in/eM-Rvxr8 https://lnkd.in/ekpdS-WX https://lnkd.in/eDV97sVj

After sharing glimpses of its new TV app over the past few months, X has now officially launched the beta version of X TV, which it claims is “a massive leap forward in transforming X into a video-first platform.” The hope is that this will encourage expanded video content consumption in the app, and with CTV being the fastest-growing usage category for YouTube, there’s pretty clear logic as to why X would want to lean into this element. The question then is will X be able to drive more interest in its video offerings on bigger TVs, given that its current slate of exclusives isn’t exactly a major headline line-up.

YouTube has become a major player in the TV space, and has continued to gain share in recent months. This April nearly 10% of the total time that Americans spent in front of TV screens was spent on the YouTube smart-TV app, according to Nielsen. And this doesn’t even include time spent watching on the YouTube TV platform. YouTube is the largest streamer by view time, even higher than Netflix–which accounted for nearly 8% of total TV view time in April–and has been since early 2023 Tapping into YouTube is a no-brainer for any advertiser looking for relevance and reach in the CTV space. When you pair its reach with the relatively low barrier to entry for YouTube buying via Google vs. buying CTV via a DSP, Google’s varied targeting options, and the its CPM efficiency, YouTube becomes an attractive option & great entry point for advertisers looking to branch out into CTV for the first time or round out their CTV strategy. 📢 Google debuts streaming ad network Ads on free #streaming channels are now even more challenging to avoid. Google's new TV advertising network can place targeted, unskippable ads on Google TV-powered streaming boxes and smart TVs and on free content. That means 20 million users with #Google TV-loaded devices from brands such as Sony and TCL and #Android hardware and #Chromecast users will receive more advertisements. According to The Verge, the reach could exceed 150 million if advertisers include YouTube. Users can avoid ads by paying a premium, but Google's move marks the latest example of tech and media giants pursuing greater profitability. #GoogleTV #B2BMarketing #TransmissionB2B #DigitalMarketing #AdTech #YouTubeAds #Streaming #TargetedAds #ads #marketing #googleads
