Starting 2024 with our first marketing intern hire for the year! Damian Tan made an impression when he applied for a marketing internship ottertunity and responded to my punny email, inviting him for an interview. Here's his exact response (shared with his permission): Aloha Cass, Hope your long weekend was otterly awesome! Just a quick update that I've blocked out a slot for next Tuesday (21 Nov) from 2:30PM to 3:15PM. Looking forward to a fin-tastic chat! Best fishes, Damian This was the first time someone responded to me in 'our' lingo. And, of course, there were many reasons why he was eventually offered an internship with OtterHalf. My takeaway from this? I'm surprised at how much of an impression a candidate can make on me just by his response to an email inviting him for an interview. There's so much I'm learning about hiring, managing a business, and about myself every day. 💡

It's time for our #internshiphighlight of the week! This week, we are introducing Alex Gillette. Alex's hard work and creativity have been invaluable this fall. What skills have you gained from your current internship at TREND? I would say collaborating with others in a professional environment might be one of the most important things I have learned. Also, using analytic tools such as Spotify for Artists and Instagram/TikTok insights to test strategies for different marketing campaigns has been a particularly illuminating experience for me. What is your favorite aspect of your internship? What I enjoy most about my internship at TREND is the guided freedom it offers. I’ve had the chance to experiment with different approaches to brand management and digital marketing. More importantly, the supportive work environment stands out to me. Everyone at TREND has been incredibly friendly and patient as I learn industry best practices. What inspired you to pursue a career in the music industry? Music has always been a core part of my life, so combining my passion for it with digital marketing feels like the perfect fit. We 🧡our amazing interns @ Group M7, Inc.. I had some of the most amazing internships during college and love giving back to the next generation of professionals that way. We follow 3 simple rules: 1️⃣: We pay our interns 2️⃣: They work on REAL client projects and get to walk away from their internship with a larger protfolio or new skillsets 3️⃣: We want them to have fun and enjoy coming to work too. After all, they usually trade their well deserved summer break for sitting in an office all day Internships are required to complete most degrees in Europe and I think US higher ed institutions should consider it too. #justmyopinion But for now, we will do our best to provide more internship opportunities to students that are driven and ready to put their classroom knowledge to good use. #interns #internships #agencyinternships
