Hybrid work has changed the way organizations design their office space. New trends focus on creating workplaces that are flexible, collaborative, sustainable, and inclusive. By incorporating these trends into workplace design, companies can create a more productive and positive work environment. The design team at CBRE has introduced four different office concepts that support different company objectives and workplace strategies. Each concept allocates a different % to focus and collaboration work based on the purpose of the office. This concept of the office as a magnet rather than a mandate perfectly captures the shift in work culture, especially with all these tech leaps we are witnessing with each passing day. So, how to create this magnetic workplace? 1. Focus on the Why: Clearly communicate the purpose of in-office work. Is it brainstorming sessions? Team bonding? Let the hoi polloi understand the value of being physically present. Open communication - I think that goes a long way. 2. Design Matters: Create an inspiring workspace with comfortable areas for collaboration and concentration. Think ergonomic furniture, natural light, and breakout spaces. 3. Work-life Harmony: Offer flexible hours and remote work options. This empowers employees to manage their schedules and fosters a sense of trust without any feeling of micro management. 4. Community Counts: Plan social events and team-building activities to strengthen relationships and make the office a place people want to be at. One such brilliant activity that I witnessed is of 'Treasure hunt' for the employees.
