With the recent focus on the Kolkata rape case & widespread blame directed at the government, police, or men, it's crucial to reflect on our own actions. How many of us have actually stood up against inappropriate behavior? It’s time to move beyond just words. Next time, have the courage to stand up for our mothers, sisters, daughters, colleagues, and even random strangers. We don’t need to be heroes, but we must show that we are there for them. When such incidents occur speak up and offer support. Let’s turn the outrage into action and make a real difference!

Hello @KolkataPolice , Since you have been promptly responding (issuing notices) to law abiding citizens who have been posting on #KolkataDoctorCase , I feel encouraged to write to you with a hope that you will respond to my queries with the same alacrity: 1. How is it possible that hundreds of hooligans enter Kolkata city, go on a rampage at #RGKAR hospital for hours and leave in trucks without police apprehending them? Was it in your knowledge and were they under your protection? 2. I understand as the rampage was on, your police were mute bystanders? Were they under orders not to act? What action have you taken against those police personnel and the SHO/police head of that area? Have they been suspended as yet? 3. Is it true that during the rampage some DNA samples have been destroyed which were key to nabbing the real culprits of heinous rape and murder? 4. Is there any truth in the reports that senior TMC ministers sons are involved in this heinous crime and whosoever is reporting this, Kolkata police is intimidating & threatening those people to remain silent? 5. Does your conscience allow you to sleep well at night and are you able to look in the mirror when you wake up? Look forward to your prompt response.

By now, if you are associated with India and aren't living under a cave, I am sure you have already heard about the 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 news that came out of Kolkata about a week or so ago. I am sure you have also seen, and probably also shared, a bunch of posts talking about how 𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 we ought to be that such a heinous crime has been committed and to top it off, there seems to have been an attempt to 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝗽 the investigation and to protect the culprits. I am sure you have also seen, and probably also shared, a bunch of posts talking about how we can 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 this very real, very sad problem of our time. I shared a video today morning on 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 talking about some aspects of this incident that I think are 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 from our public discourse. And what’s more, I genuinely feel that this video covers the most 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 for this problem. It also covers what constitutes the 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 that we actually need to have and spread to combat this sort of 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹. You know where to find the video. I’ll see you in the playground. Would you be willing to pay for a rapist's food and accommodation? It’s a question worth considering, especially in light of the gruesome Kolkata rape case. I would never pay if it were in my hands! In my opinion, the death penalty should be the only punishment for all rape cases across the country, with swift implementation for the most heinous rape cases. Life imprisonment, while severe, doesn’t always serve as an adequate deterrent. To effectively combat such crimes, we need not only stringent penalties but also enhanced measures like widespread surveillance for evidence collection, and swift implementation of punishment awarded. This combination will help prevent these grave injustices and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable. #Justice #woman

Do we really have a future? Do we really deserve social media and other facilities? I agree that social media platforms are powerful when used wisely, but what if they are handed over to the people who have no goals, no work, no responsibilities, no manners, no moral values, and who spend their whole day trolling, making fun of other, making negative comments? To me it's like giving them a gun and allowing them to do whatever they want. Kolkata rape and murder victim is ridiculed on the internet, on fake social media accounts,she is called a ‘comedian’. Several others who don’t deserve to be called humans are busy mocking the victim and the crime, and even justifying it by glorifying the accused persons involved. Some users on Facebook made fun of the brutal rape incident by blatantly saying that the victim doctor managed to 'satisfy' 8-10 people at a time. What a horrible mentality they have.
