"Be a custodian.” Just one of the many take-aways from Lorenzo Moretti at this morning’s Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce's Branding and Sales, Business Breakfast this morning at The Chester Hotel. President EMEA at Champion and CEO Game 7 Athletics, Lorenzo’s career has taken him all the way from Aberdeen to the C-Suite of beloved brands such as Dr. Martens and Marks and Spencer. Pauline Smith, Amanda Hogg and Sophie Stephen were completely inspired by Lorenzo’s take on all things marketing, branding and leadership. #branding #businessbreakfast #aberdeenbusiness #networking

Leadership on the Green: Neal Shipley’s Masters Journey: 🏌️♂️ Today, I want to highlight an example of leadership that transcends the boardroom—a story that unfolded on the hallowed greens of Augusta National Golf Club during the 2024 Masters Tournament. Neal Shipley, an amateur golfer from Pittsburgh, stood at the tee box, nerves and anticipation coursing through his veins. But what set Neal apart wasn’t just his swing or his drive—it was the man by his side, his best friend and caddie, Carter Pitcairn. Leadership isn’t about titles or corner offices; it’s about lifting others up, even when the stakes are sky-high. Here’s why Neal and Carter’s partnership exemplifies true leadership: Trust and Camaraderie: Neal and Carter have known each other for over a decade. Their bond extends beyond fairways and birdies—it’s forged in shared memories, late-night conversations, and unwavering trust. When Neal invited Carter to caddie at The Masters, he wasn’t just asking for help; he was entrusting his dreams to a friend. Leading by Example: Neal’s decision to bring Carter wasn’t just about golf logistics. It was a statement—an embodiment of the belief that leadership means standing shoulder-to-shoulder with those who matter most. Neal’s actions spoke louder than any PowerPoint presentation ever could. Embracing the Moment: Neal’s words echo the essence of leadership: “I feel ready. I like to feed off this energy and just really enjoy the moment. I don’t feel uncomfortable at all.” Leaders don’t shy away from big stages; they relish them. Neal’s calmness radiated, inspiring everyone around him. Let’s celebrate Neal and Carter. They remind us that leadership isn’t about solo performances; it’s about the symphony we create with our team. Whether you’re in the boardroom or on the 18th green, remember: true leaders lift others up, even when the stakes are as high as Amen Corner. #leadership #sports #golf #management #careers #inspiration #ceo

Think B2B Marketing account manager and copywriter, principally serving print and packaging; retired B2B editor and active bingo player
I am thinking the “Packaging Euros” might have to make an (re)appearance in a couple of weeks, if I can locate enough football-themed packs. 24 teams, each assigned to one of those 24 packs, “playing” off against each until one team/pack emerges victorious. Nothing scientific and nothing to play for, other than for fun. Should I try and make it happen? #printing #packaging #Euro2024

⚽️ Reflecting on Portsmouth's Triumphant Return to the Championship As a former player for Portsmouth FC, the recent news of the club’s promotion back to the Championship brings a wave of nostalgia and excitement. During my tenure under the guidance of Harry Redknapp, I learned pivotal lessons on resilience and strategic play, crucial during those intense end-of-season runs. I am a Leadership Development Trainer, Executive Facilitator & Coach. I am committed to compassionately supporting leaders & teams in reaching their full potential.
The launch of the Must Win Battles for the US1 team was the focus for the team building over the last two days. The team is putting the right resources in the right seats to ensure Michelin wins these battles. I made a few calls and helped the team wrap up their session with Ben Hall. A few key takeaways from Ben: - Think bigger then yourself - Do what your supposed to do (perform at your expected level - every day) - Surprise the team and step up when you’re needed: it’s the unexpected things you do that will help the team win! - Be accountable and committed - Set a goal and don’t lose sight of it - It’s you stopping you And last (but certainly not least): “If I get better, the team gets better!”❤️ Chris Daniells Natasha Clark Cody Wallis Nathália Hasselmann de Aguiar #leadershipmatters #accountability #getbettereveryday

🏉 The Winning Play: Lessons from the Field to the Boardroom Attending the incredible Melbourne Storm vs. Rabbitohs ANZAC Day clash last night got me thinking once again about the striking parallels between high-performing sports teams and successful organisations. Strategic Leadership: Much like transforming a team's strategy on the field, driving change within an organisation requires visionary leadership, meticulous planning and unwavering commitment. As these NRL players last night rallied around a common goal, our own teams unite to drive innovation and deliver results. Let’s harness the power of teamwork and cultivate a growth strategy and mindset that motivates all and propels success. Culture & Recognition: Melbourne Storm’s, Cameron Munster was honoured as man of the match for his consistency, impact and dedication. Let's continue to recognise the unsung heroes in our own organisations as a symbol of positive culture. Very proud to see our boys win last night and continue to contest the top of the table. #winningculture #transformationleadership

Making a difference and owning the outcome are the key traits that Grant Cardone has been sharing with us this month. But the outcome on being first is the motivation to keep us ahead of the pack! #Sales is a really competitive world, for the people that specialise in it as a core skill, for those of us that support them in their search for excellence, and ultimately the #businessleaders that need new sales in order to grow and deliver their goals. As #salesleaders we recognise we have a support role as well as a #leadership role however today we are focusing on one element; what it takes to be a winner. The drive not to finish second has to be strong. Speaking with Olympic champion Sir Steve Redgrave on his 5 Olympic gold medals, he emphasised that even though he only won some by a canvas (a few feet) his statement was ' do you remember who came second?'; that's the focus of a winner! Today let's make sure we are planning to be first when we are looking at our week ahead, do what it takes to control your inputs and preparations as part of your winning dela strategy. #grantcardone #salesleadership #positivemindset

We need more proper leaders like this.
Veteran / Non Executive Director / Leadership Consultant / Executive Coach / Founder & CEO EIGER Performance
I attended the dramatic 6 Nations game today between 🏴 & 🇫🇷 . Despite it not the result I had hoped...I spotted something on the tram that I wish to share. Highlighted on the photo is the CEO for Transport for Edinburgh, George Lowder MBE. Now, on such an occasion I know he will have all sorts of options such as 1. Enjoy hospitality at Murrayfield. 2. Spend the day with his mates. 3. Spend the day at home with the family.....but no...he was on the 'front line' with his team delivering / supporting his key stakeholders - the public. This is leadership at its best....and what's more, as I watched him, his team on the ground knew him and he knew them. #leadbyexample #bevisible #leadthroughyouractions
