I'm thrilled to have been invited to this year's StartupAZ Cohort 11. A friend, Ed Cheely, once remarked to me, "Everyone underestimates what it takes to create something. Creating is hard!" It is! Hard, exciting, hair-raising sometimes, rewarding, humbling, and outright fun. One lesson I've learned for sure is that creating businesses or anything for that matter takes a huge support network. StartupAZ has built an incredible community of the best of the best of Arizona's tech ecosystem. I'm excited to learn and contribute and meet some amazing individuals. I'm sure the coming year will prove to be an incredible (and hard!) year of creating amazing businesses. Thank you Brandon Clarke and team for including Bold Street in the line up!
Easily one of my favorite days of the year - welcoming new founders to StartupAZ's Founders Collective. This never gets old... In 2015 Mario Martinez II and I wanted to find a way to support emerging founders in greater phoenix - before they we're breaking news and breaking through. We knew founders were leaving the market feeling under resourced and otherwise, unprepared to launch, grow and scale. Our goal was not to make things easier - it was about creating access, and with access came the responsibility to execute.
