While on this, I would humbly suggest to the PFF to move on from the players who until now refuse to play for the national team. There are so many foreign-based Filipinos and homegrown talents, who may not have the pedigree or the credentials of having played in the biggest leagues in Europe or somewhere else, but who are more than passionate and are just waiting to be given the opportunity to play for the Philippines. Let us prioritize these players rather than those who treat the Philippines as a spare tire or “reserbang kabayo” in their football careers. Sunday, March 17th 2024 at 18:51 local time. ⚽ Three different goalkeepers sat down during their soccer match in the Belgian Pro League. Did they have an injury? Of course not. At this exact moment, all people participating in Ramadan were allowed to eat and drink again. ⏯ In England and The Netherlands, the referees are allowed to pause the game to allow players to drink and eat again during Ramadan. Unfortunately, this rule does not apply for the referees in Belgium. 🍴 Because of the smart and caring goalkeepers in Belgium, all active soccer players that participate in Ramadan were able to eat and drink something. Maybe this action will lead to a change of the rules in Belgium. This is a good example of what the concept ‘Cultural empathy’ means. Cultural empathy is one of the parameters of the Global Mind Monitor. 1988: Kicking the ball around the streets of Belfast 2004: Playing Xavi & Puyol in a World Cup Qualifier Virtually overnight, I went from the best footballer on my block, to getting dominated in a 3-0 loss Vs Spain. (A big transition for a young kid.) But it was during my time with Norther Ireland that I learned a priceless lesson that has stuck with me ever since. Because when we turned up for international football it was a bit of a piss up. → Partying in the lead up to games. → The lads were training hungover. → Teammates not getting along. We were playing for Northern Ireland… no one took us seriously. ↳ So neither did the players. Then we’d turn up to a game and the likes of Xavi would run rings around us. Not because he was physically or technically better (although he was). But because he had a world-class mindset. - He turned up focused. - Locked in from minute 1. - And was ready to perform. It was during that game that I realised that if I wanted to be a world-class player, I had to sort my mindset out. Because if you don’t THINK like the top 1%, you’ll never BE the top 1%. And this can be applied to any industry… especially business. If you want to be the best, you have to think like the best. It’s world-class mindsets that create world-class performers.

My take away from the Euros 1) The sum total as a whole is greater than the sum of individuals , nothing explains it better than Spain vs England , on paper when you add up the experience and level of all England players they add up to much more than Spain players but Spain played much better as a team and not just collection of individual players 2) A winning team is an ideal combination of youth and experience and they need to recognise the strength of each other and work together 3) if you dont give youth the chance to play and perform at the big stage then you will see the difference and that may be the difference between winning and losing 4) At times you need to take that risk and be fearless of the consequences and go all out , Spain did it and England tried to play it safe and were outplayed 5) On the big stage reputations count for little, the most celebrated players can be ineffective 6) it’s difficult to explain at times what national pride can do and be the X factor that propels a team to victory In the end the winning formula was a combination of individual brilliance and perfect teamwork Yes all this analysis could have gone in the dustbin if England would have won but it was not be Lets all celebrate some great football and a wonderful tournament that showed how great this beautiful game is and thats exactly what Spain did played a “beautiful game” , England can hold their heads high for having made it to the final despite being written off time and again and finding a way out everytime till they ran into Spain, but in the end there is only one winner , aint that cruel P.S : just a coincidence that a 21 year old Alcaraz destroyed an invincible player like Djokovic , Spain is producing champions all the way , anyone knows their secret recipe ? #euros #england #spain #champions #teamwork #youth #beautifulgame

🏆🧵Club and International Football Demands ⚽ As Emma Hayes says, managing players back in and out of International Duty needs skilful management & coordination. International demands, 3x as high in comparison to league. For example, had a defender who was marking Alex Morgan, she did 3x as much High speed running (HSR) compared to a forward. ⚽ Legs, Lungs and Brain demands are very high. Also players selected for first time need time to adjust to demands. This includes travel, and general logistics to manage. It's a bit like an air traffic control system, safely bringing them back into team training, or out. Smooth open comms, speed, efficiency, information sharing and integrated working; Between club and national team are critical to ensure the player can perform, and have the best experience for both club and country. ⚽ It also helps with player selection, particularly if you are complimented on speed of information and integrated working. Make Lansdowne great again… Dear IRFU, The atmosphere at rugby matches is waning due to increased corporate presence and related excessive drinking. What’s been done is not enough and ignores several drivers which your peers are grappling with. Hate to say it but Jamie George's efforts to revive Twickenham's fan experience with simple measures like altering the players' entrance and playlist adjustments have potential. However, ultimately the IRFU must reengage with its true rugby fans over corporate spectators. The tepid vibe this great article brings out is an issue we cannot overlook. Prioritising the allocation of tickets to real enthusiasts and managing drinking habits rather than lip service could enhance the atmosphere, reminiscent of what's seen at AIL, GAA and FAI Cup finals. Emulating Twickenham's and the WRU proactive stance, the IRFU should forge stronger ties with its fans. This can be achieved by more mindful ticket distribution and by adopting policies that encourage fervor and discourage overconsumption of alcohol particularly in the stands. In order to get that Lansdowne roar back the IRFU needs to align its actions with core rugby values to reignite the passion at Lansdowne Road and stop selling its soul to the corporates and boozers
