Day 3 of our paid work experience with UK Youth: Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Dom and Zak from Bullhorn, who shared their journeys from childhood to sales management 👏. Our participants were engaged, asking loads of questions and showing great interest 🤔💬. Dom and Zak also discussed early talent opportunities at Bullhorn and what they look for in new hires 🎓. They encouraged everyone to connect with them on LinkedIn and promised to share upcoming job opportunities 💼. A great question was raised about diversity at Bullhorn, and Dom and Zak’s response was inspiring. As a London-based company 🌍, they’re committed to ensuring their workforce reflects the city’s diversity 🌈, with employees growing from entry-level roles to leadership 🚀. It’s a commitment to diversity that, unfortunately, many other organisations can’t match. Something a bit different today! A day in London taking part in a Jobshare Hackathon. 40+ inspiring people, brought together by Tiger de Souza MBE to explore barriers and co-create strategies to make jobsharing mainstream. Co-leading C Space as Joint MD for 4 years with Felix was a game-changer for me personally and professionally. Since we both worked fulltime in the same position, I don’t think I’ve ever really thought about what we did as a ‘jobshare’ in the traditional sense (something borne out of a need for flexibility), but rather a complementary skillet which offered many of the personal and organizational benefits of job-sharing. It was good to have that belief challenged today. A takeaway for me from today’s workshop is that we need to remember that job-sharing can take many forms. It’s not just about flexible working. We must better communicate the potential upside to teams and organizations, as well as the people taking on the role. Excited to see how this conversation and thinking moves to action over the coming months.

At Closed, supporting and empowering our young talents is one of our top priorities – they are the ones shaping our future with their innovative outlook and forward-thinking approach. That’s why our HR team introduced Closed NEXT GEN, a networking initiative for all emerging talents at our company – from interns to working students and trainees. This format does not only foster connections among the younger generation, it also encourages meaningful exchange and growth beyond their own bubble, e.g. connecting with senior talent of the company. For our first NEXT GEN meeting, we hosted one of our CEOs, Hans Redlefsen. He gave insights into his own career journey and early experiences at Closed. Alongside gaining valuable perspectives from Hans, we collectively brainstormed ideas by envisioning the trajectory of our company in the year 2030. What does the future of work look like for the NEXT GEN? How will we collaborate, and what is their compelling vision for the workplace of the future? This collaboration produced a wealth of innovative ideas from our talented young individuals, propelling us further in our quest to enhance and further shape the company’s future strategic direction.
