After a medical appointment, do you remember all the information provided by your provider? If you answered no, you’re not alone. Navigating the health landscape remains challenging with studies showing up to 80% of medical information is forgotten immediately after a doctor's visit. This is troubling considering that over 80% of a patient’s health status is determined by health-related behaviors, socioeconomic factors, and environmental factors outside of a doctor’s office. As the era of virtual care unfolds, the integration of technology and personalized healthcare needs to ensure critical health information is retained and put into action. When your population can message an Omada health coach 24/7, they won’t have to worry about forgetting vital health information. Don’t forget, digital health focused on connected care can help fill gaps that patients experience outside the walls of a doctors office. Clinician Certified in HIV Prevention & Management (Adults & Pediatrics) | WASH & Antenatal Care Advocate | Passionate about Preventive Healthcare
The philosophy encapsulated by the phrase "Each one teach one, each one reach one" within the realm of providing health services is deeply rooted in the principle that every individual possesses the capacity and moral obligation to impart their knowledge and expertise to others, while simultaneously extending a helping hand to those who require assistance. This philosophy underscores the notion that by empowering and enlightening others, we have the potential to create a profound and far-reaching impact, subsequently enhancing healthcare outcomes on a global scale. It beckons healthcare professionals to not only concentrate on their personal growth and development but also actively engage in the act of teaching and mentoring, thereby expanding the collective reservoir of expertise and influence within the healthcare domain. By embracing this philosophy, we can cultivate a culture of collaboration, perpetual learning, and collective advancement within the healthcare community. Ultimately, its objective is to guarantee that every individual, irrespective of their background or circumstances, is granted access to exceptional healthcare and is supported by a network of compassionate and knowledgeable healthcare providers. In doing so, we strive to foster a world where the provision of quality healthcare is not limited to a privileged few, but rather becomes a universally accessible right for all individuals. #Equalhealthcare #Healthcaretoall #Healthmatters

One word opened the door to a true point of care consumer focus for a whole organisation. What was it? You'll have to tune into this month's 'Quality Lightbulb' session with Dr Alex Cockram to find out! Alex will reveal the 'a-ha!' moment that illuminated for her as a CEO how to point an entire large health service at point of care. For her it was the beginning of five years of 'turning the ship', with many lessons learned on what it takes to truly make consumers the focus of planning, roles, decisions, system design, clinical governance and, yes, even the electronic health record. And how to bring this to life for staff - including corporate and support staff - until it becomes something that's easier to engage with than ignore. We talk endlessly on consumer focus and person-centred care in human services, but too often the talk ends up as a nice statement in a document that doesn't touch the way staff think and act with consumers every day. What does it take to go beyond the glossy to make concrete changes to the way things are done at point of care? To wrap a system of beliefs, process and behaviour around managers and staff so they can't help but focus on creating great care with consumers? Find out here! https://lnkd.in/gHz4KQZK Date: 2 August 2024, 12:30pm - 1:15pm (Melb/Syd time) This is an AICG Member Event - if you think this alone is worth the price of gleaning the good oil on practical tools and tips for leading true consumer focus in practice, find out more here!: https://lnkd.in/g8kQqtQU Look forward to seeing you there! #clinicalgovernance #consumerfocus #consumercentred #bestcare #strategicqualitysystem #leadership #changemanagement #personcentredcare #healthcare #agedcare #disabilityservices #communityhealth Australasian Institute of Clinical Governance (AICG) Alex Cockram

In healthcare, good communication is really important. It's like having a superpower that helps doctors and patients understand each other better. When patients know what's going on with their health, they can make smarter choices and feel more in control. These tools for talking and sharing information are super helpful. They make sure patients get the right message and know how to follow their treatment plans. This is good for everyone because it makes the whole healthcare system work better. But not everyone knows medical terms. That's why it's great to have simple explanations. It's like making health information easy for everyone to understand, just like reading a simple story. These tools also help stop mistakes by making sure instructions are clear and easy to follow. This means less confusion and a smoother ride for everyone's health journey. So, making communication better in healthcare is super important. It helps build trust, lets patients make good decisions, and makes sure everyone understands health information, no matter how complex it is. This makes everyone happier and healthier. Let's make being a patient easier for everyone.
