California has long been a hot tech hiring market, making up 11% of the total U.S. tech jobs in June. But interestingly, metro areas like Washington DC, New York City, Dallas, and Chicago outpaced San Francisco in tech hiring. Despite this, San Francisco posted 20% more tech jobs in June compared to May. Seattle is also on the rise, showing a 31% year-over-year growth from June 2023 to June 2024.
