When I was living in the UK I was obsessed with The Vampire's Wife... That obsession manifested as a natural curiosity to understand who was behind this small yet transcendent brand, which led me to a WWD article announcing the appointment of Leonardo Lawson as the CEO of THE VAMPIRE'S WIFE. Who was this New Yorker at the head of a niche, cult British brand? 🔥 What was this consulting and talent search agency he founded called BOND Creative MGMT? So I dove in further, and I found BONDs President, Devin Wheeler, and I asked him if we could meet. Not to ask for anything in particular, but to learn more about what other types of brands they worked with. And now three years later I get to work with some of the best people I know, and EVERY DAY I MEET PEOPLE DOING... INNOVATIVE TRAILBLAZING UNIQUE AND ALL AROUND AMAZING THINGS. And THEN we get to connect them with other people doing awesome work in order to super-charge brands 💫 Don't be afraid of that natural curiosity, lean in to it. After attending NYU and establishing my own creative platform, I jumped at the opportunity to join BOND Creative MGMT as their first external hire...& that was almost a dozen years ago! What sets BOND apart is that we don't only recruit from the creative industries - our team is immersed in, and intrinsically part of these communities. We ingrain ourselves in contemporary culture, and this authentic drive and understanding allows us to curate and connect nuanced teams. 🌐 Through our long-lasting relationships with clients & candidates, we champion innovation, creativity, and purpose.     It is an honor and a privilege to take part in another addition of Otis College of Art and Design's Black Creatives Institute! Bringing together industry professionals with new students is such an important part of making the creative industries professionally accessible, and one of the ways BOND Creative MGMT and The Bond Creative Advancement Project uses its influence and network to impact positive change. Thank you to keynote speakers Teran Evans from Amazon, and Teman Evans from General Mills; opening night speaker Natasha DesRuisseaux (she/her/hers) from Meta; and to panelists DeeDee Wright-Ward from Purpose Toys, Mike Chubb from Treyarch, Billy Hicks from The Walt Disney Company, Will Ragland from Apple, Michael White at Riot Games, and our very own, Leonardo Lawson, founder of BOND Creative MGMT and member of the Board of Trustees at Otis. The insights gathered from this year's program of talks was invaluable! Here's to the 5th year of BCI, and to many more!
