As we wrap up our International Women in Engineering Day series, we reflect on the importance of female role models supporting and uplifting women, creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive future for all. That is exactly what Anne Berrier aims to do. Anne’s problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and pragmatic approach were learned through studying Methods Engineering, a subspecialty of industrial engineering and manufacturing engineering concerned with human integration in industrial production processes. These qualities have been instrumental in her success as a General Manager at Sentric Safety Group, a Halma company that designs and manufactures advanced interlocks and safety solutions that make hazardous workplaces safer. Anne leads a 100+ people team across Tunisia, the UK, and France where she’s based. Anne started her career in the retail industry in Operations Management where she developed a continuous improvement mindset that serves her well today in ensuring that she’s constantly looking to optimise processes and enhance outcomes for Sentric’s customers. She said, "I wake up every day thinking 'how can I make that better?'. I'm driven by a passion for creating a better life for people, which is aligned with Halma's purpose of growing a safer, cleaner, healthier future for everyone, every day. I come across stereotypes daily, but I'm convinced that we can only be more creative and more innovative because of diversity. Everything is possible; the only limits are the ones we set for ourselves." #INWED2024 #EnhancedByEngineering #WomenInHalma #WomenInSTEM

Every woman in a technical profession knows the situation of sitting in a meeting almost exclusively with men. 👨💼 👨💼 👨💼 👨💼 👩💼 Yesterday, the picture was reversed at segment Engines at Lufthansa Technik . In the dialog format "Eng im Austausch", we had our first special edition just for female employees and our VP Operations Engine Services Michael Kirstein answered all the questions in a group of 23 female participants and, above all, gave them space and listened to them. The topics were diverse - how are the women in our engines department doing? What issues do we have and how can we get even more women interested in technical professions and of course as employees for our engines department? In the end, we had such a lively discussion that we completely forgot about the time and therefore forgot to take a photo 😃 📷 The feedback from the participants was consistently positive and we all agreed yesterday that we need more formats like this to promote exchange and lively discussion around the topic of female empowerment and to provide a safe space for this. 👍 Thanks to our Engine Management Michael Kirstein & Derrick Siebert for the dialog format and the exchange, thanks to Marei Schulz, Lisa Ille, Laura Stoermer for supporting in setting up this special format and, of course, thanks to all participants for the impressions and experiences shared and the questions they brought along. I am more convinced than ever - excellence has no gender! 👩🔧 👨🔧 💪 #excellencehasnogender #femaleempowerment #lufthansatechnik #wecreatepower

Today we celebrate the International Day of Women in Engineering. The initiative promotes the work that women engineers across the globe are doing to support lives and livelihoods every day. The share of women in Engineering jobs is estimated at only 16% to 18% globally. As a global technology group, at Freudenberg we actively promote the role of women in Engineering positions. In more than 60 countries women contribute to our sustainable solutions with their innovative ideas. Today we introduce you to one of them. Meet Dr. Isabella Paul-Jordanov. She is Vice President in charge of one of the most important and most ambitious future projects in our company. Her love affair with Engineering began early. “I did not really choose Engineering. I believe Engineering chose me.”, Isabella recollects. Her fascination for complex systems led her to studying Neuropsychology where she examined one the most complex systems of all: the human brain. In her Engineering career she deals with a huge amount of very complex data. The products and systems Isabella oversees are highly engineered sealing solutions for crucial applications that support lives and the livelihoods of millions of people. Isabella faces challenges with a simple recipe – Courage and curiosity: “Be brave, courageous and curious. Try things out. Sometimes life leads you in peculiar ways and it can be fun to follow along." Isn’t `Try things out` the most `engineering` advice you can get? https://lnkd.in/dJVX5GP #innovatingtogether #womeninengineering

𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 In a world where 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 can be seen as 𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, and 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 can be seen as 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘴, it’s crucial for us to foster environments to lift each other up rather than tear each other down. Women in tech, especially, face unique challenges, often feeling hesitant to believe in themselves and their abilities or grow in environments where they're not fully valued. At Conmore Ingenjörsbyrå AB, we understand the significance of creating spaces where trust and open communication thrive over fear. That’s where communities like 𝐊𝐈𝐂𝐎 come in. It’s a fantastic community where women are not just encouraged, but empowered to dream big, believe they can achieve their goals, apply for those opportunities that might seem intimidating at first, seek out managers who uplift them and surround themselves with colleagues who champion one another. But talk is cheap, especially when it comes to workplace culture. That's why we're committed to embodying our values through both words and actions. When "culture" is just a buzzword, it’s our actions that speak volumes. 📢 𝐒𝐨, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭? We start by being there for each other and praise one another’s successes. We coach each other, help each other, lift each other up, celebrate work and private milestones together. We strive to be the kind of colleagues who support and empower, not undermine or compete. If you’re looking for a workplace where you’ll find managers who lift you up, colleagues who have your back, and a culture that truly values you, then Conmore Ingenjörsbyrå AB is the place to be. My colleagues Jessika Warvne, Fredrika Andreasson, Saja Mouishi and Emma Rådahl have done a fantastic job fostering the KICO community and deserve all the praise! 750 women, one mission: Our women@Rheinmetall network wants to actively help shape the future of Rheinmetall – with project ideas from within the community. The mission of the community is clearly defined for the next few years: To create a space where the femininity and potential of every person is seen as a key contribution to Rheinmetall’s business success. Today you can read why Janina Lemme sees her role in the core team of women@Rheinmetall as enrichment. Janina Lemme has been a part of the core team for over a year. She works at the Unterlüß site as an IT project coordinator. In addition to her expertise in the fields of IT and project management, Women@Rheinmetall is enriched by her proximity to employees in production. “It is important to me to reach more women in production and those without a computer workplace. This is something we want to work on. After all, we want to benefit from ideas from every individual in the company.” What is Janina Lemme’s wish for the future? “That employees recognize the value added of our network for the company. Especially at the beginning, we were often asked what we even hoped to achieve. But everything that we do is meaningful and goal-oriented. For that, we also have the support of Peter Sebastian Krause on the Executive Board.” To find out more about our women@Rheinmetall network click here: https://lnkd.in/eh_yty-s #womenatrheinmetall #rheinmetall #career #femaleempowerment #diversity
