It’s amazing to see the growth of single use solutions in pharma small molecule manufacturing over the past 20 years. We have seen SMEPAC assessments move from micrograms to nanograms and now recent assessments show performance in picograms/m3. Here is how it works: Shock absorbers serve to decelerate the motion of certain actuators. Due to the high cycle frequency, these components are subject to inevitable wear over time. Our inductive distance sensor captures two speed measurements each time the damper is in motion, subsequently calculating the braking effect as negative acceleration. Based on this measurement data, the degree of wear can be easily identified. This helps to initiate targeted maintenance and avoid unplanned plant downtime.
