Over the past decade, reports have consistently highlighted a striking trend: at S&P 500 companies, you could find more CEOs named John or Jon than total females in the same position. In 2023, this trend was reversed! Finally, female CEOs outnumber men named John or Jon in the chief executive position in top publicly traded companies. This shift marks a significant advancement in workplace diversity and inclusion among leaders. But while this progress is fantastic to see, its recency underscores the ongoing need to empower women across all industries. This year, CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation topped the FAIR SHARE of Women Leaders Index for #WomenLeadership with 77 percent of leadership positions held by women, directly proportionate to women in #CIVICUS.
