The Balancing Act of Work and Family Just Got Tougher as share in the latest article from Women's Agenda In the article they state that recent findings from the 2024 National Working Families survey reveal a significant increase in stress among parents—especially women—trying to juggle career and caregiving duties. A staggering 74% of female carers report feeling overwhelmed, compared to 57% of their male counterparts. This stress isn't just about workload; it's about workplace cultures that still see women as the default caregivers, limiting parental leave for fathers and reinforcing gender stereotypes. This not only impacts women's health but also perpetuates a cycle that disadvantages all working parents. It's time for change. Workplaces need to adopt genuinely inclusive policies that support all parents equally. Let's champion environments where both mothers and fathers can thrive professionally without sacrificing their family time. While we push for change in workplace cultures, the reality is that some industries are painfully slow to adapt. This is where alternative solutions like Au Pairs become essential. They fill the crucial gap, providing the support that enables both women and men, including many single mothers with primary custody of their children, to maintain their careers. As one of my clients poignantly shared, "I could not keep my job if I did not have my Au Pair(s)." It's time for action. Let's champion environments where both mothers and fathers can thrive professionally without sacrificing their family time. Thank you Kathrin Baumann for sharing this with me. #WorkLifeBalance #GenderEquality #FamilyFriendlyWorkplaces https://lnkd.in/g_E6PBJs

Women In Wellbeing Book 📚 When I asked the women about childhood aspirations, a common theme was to train as a vet or to work with animals. No surprises really. Women in the wellbeing field have a caring and nurturing nature, often learned from a young age caring for their pets. I however was the opposite. It was always people I wanted to help. I freeze when animals get hurt......I feel helpless. I have learnt so much about these amazing women and can't wait to share their wisdom and experiences with you all. #WomenInWellbeingAotearoa #WomenInWellbeing #Wellbeing #womeninwellbeingnz #WomenInBusiness #WomensRefuge #WomenInWellbeingBook #Wellness

I’m not even sure how to write a caption for this statistic. So let’s talk about it. Why are women in the US dealing with so much emotional distress? To start with: lack of paid leave, lack of affordable child care, lack of societal support! What comes to your mind when you read it? Mindset matters ... I love this post, and plan to try to remember these over the next 6 weeks. I bookend the school holidays every year to mark the beginning, the end and to make me feel better about the weeks in between. And I have added 'work free wednesdays'. I day theme and time block, so have the flex built into my week. I am grateful I work for myself and can build time freedom into my week. What are you doing differently this year? #WorkingParents #FlexibleWorking #TimeTips #TimeFreedom
For those #workingparents amongst my LI feed who are feeling the guilt right now. Only eleventy billion weeks to go! Credit: Guilty Mothers Club #summerholidays #workingmums #workingdads
