Another great lunchtime event organised by pro-manchester. I always come away with new connections or takeaways from the seminars and today didn't fail on both accounts. I also got the added bonus of a walk in the sun to and from COLONY Fabrica, and a welcome break from the computer screens. I spoke with Jemma Bargh from Trafford & Stockport College Group and discussed ways in which Crescent Purchasing Consortium could provide some support to the College learners, which I look forward to exploring further. The seminar was interesting and I gained a number of takeaways on the subject of how storytelling should be at the heart of a communications strategy. Here are my top 3: 1. Consider what you/your business want to be known for? 2. Look to include a human element into the story that people will remember. 3. Don't be afraid of repeating yourself because your message may have to be said several times before your dream customer(s) hear it. I say, don't be afraid of repeating yourself.... 😁 Lots more I could add, which I'll be sharing with the comms team at Crescent Purchasing Consortium during this week.

This article clearly details what people shoukr expect staff-wise when running a show (whether it be a theater space or an event in a smaller venue). When people question the need for multiple staff in our theater for events, this article clearly spells out why we operate the way we do. We have a smaller team than in larger venues, but there’s always an A1 (professional staff) and most times an A2 (student stage crew) who assists the A1 but also handles lights.

I found the coolest thing at the Banff Film Festival last night. Watching the adventures was pretty cool, but so was being invited to participate in better ways of bringing the outdoors to us. The NZ Mountain Safety Council want to hear the voices of our adventures big and small, to learn about what we love in the outdoors, so they can support it better, and support us better. It's stepping out of learning from failures and creating/telling us better rules to follow. They want to learn what's going well, and how we create success too. They want us to share our experiences to learn from each other. I'm seeing more examples of organisations taking big steps to network their members and audiences, to learn what matters to them, and help them learn from each other. It's quite a big, bold step to be this open, and I think it's the way forward for creating better services, better experiences, and respecting the knowledge and know-how of people. https://lnkd.in/g-twHXFh.

Can't wait to go back (just need to find a fez!)
