Reflecting on our recent Q2 Offsite in San Antonio 🤠 This quarter, the BoomPop team took a strategic pause from the daily hustle. Faced with a growing team, ambitious goals, and an accelerating pace of work, we knew in-person collaboration was crucial. “My favorite part of offsites is connecting with teammates - those I work with daily and those I don't interact with as often. BoomPop has an amazing community and being able to further collaborate when we are together makes the time spent so worth it!“ —Cassidy Hurwitz Rapoport, Senior Event Manager at BoomPop Our San Antonio offsite provided the perfect environment to focus, strategize, and ensure our company culture thrives as we reach for new heights. "The one thing that helps us is we have a common goal and we understand it collectively very well." 🚀📈 While working remotely has allowed us to recruit and collaborate with the best in the industry, meeting face-to-face at our yearly offsites adds a whole new dimension to our team bond. Offsites are more than just in-person meetings. They provide a unique opportunity to strengthen our team bonds, align everyone towards our common goals, and deeply engage with the values that drive our business. During these meetings, we get to know each other beyond the screen, sharing moments that help us understand how each team member excels in their role. These meetups give us an extra boost. They help us share ideas, collaborate better, and come back feeling more united and motivated. Our offsites allow us to collectively innovate, collaborate, and reinforce the core values that define us as a company. They are key to building a cohesive, motivated, and forward-thinking team. Here's a peek at some team-building during our recent meetup in Miami team-building day 👇🏻

Founder & CEO | Board Director | Impact Investor | Expert Witness Trusted Advisor on complex, high-stakes issues in risk management, governance, corporate litigation & public policy.
As noted below, Gnarus recently had a team offsite in Denver. A few takeaways for me personally – * While stepping back from day-to-day leadership can be fraught, for me it has been an extremely gratifying transition. I have been able to emphasize mentoring our new firm leadership / my client teams and keep my hand in recruiting and other strategic issues while (I hope!) leaving plenty of space for Jessica Horewitz and Devin Malaise to pursue their own version of Gnarus. Plus, some ongoing client work! * We were a largely “virtual” firm even pre-COVID, and recent years have only emphasized that trend. So these in-person events are even more critical than they were pre-COVID to reinforce our collegiality. Many of us have the benefit of having known each other for decades, but our newer team members (most recently, Jesus Tobon-Escobedo and Olivia Lees) probably benefitted even more from in-person interactions. * Legacy. It sounds a bit pretentious, but I could not be prouder of Gnarus Advisors LLC than I was looking around the table in Denver. Gnarus was founded with central idea of creating a firm that combined excellence in client work with a collegial and rewarding environment that emphasized mutual respect. Our intention was to be a firm run *for* consultants and *by* consultants and one where the firm works for its consultants and not the other way around. We have managed to maintain and strengthen that vision (temporary detours notwithstanding) and I continue to fervently believe our approach. I left Denver convinced more than ever that our future is bright and that Gnarus will remain an independent firm run by and for consultants and that our commitment to excellence and our belief that “expertise matters” continues to be our bedrock.
Gnarus hosted our first post-COVID (and post re-launch) all-hands offsite earlier this month in Denver. While a few of our colleagues sadly were unable to attend, most of us were able to join. We had a very productive meetings - but the best parts were (of course) the opportunities to socialize and catch up with colleagues and friends over meals, drinks, and the spaces “in between” meetings. #colleagues #culturematters #inpersonevents #teambuilding

Every year while doing fiscal planning, we evaluate how many all-company in-person events to include in the budget. It is always difficult to measure the direct ROI for these expensive events. Last week we hosted all AgentSync employees in our Denver HQ for our annual company kickoff event and I can confidently say that we achieved more in building connective tissue and aligning on priorities than we have in the last three months - despite the expense in dollars, disruption to day-to-day operations, and emotional drain. A great reminder of the importance and energizing power of getting together on a regular cadence. It was an easy decision to commit to at least two all-company gatherings every year.

Insider hacks for offsite planning? Yes please. 🙌 BoomPop—one of our Platinum Sponsors—delivered an incredible session yesterday. Q3 usually means exec or company offsites, summer picnics, & team retreats. So it was a great time to have BoomPop event pros Daron Linton, CMP and Madelyn Shaughnessy dive into cost-saving and time-saving hacks. 💡 One of our favorites? To save money on your hotel—typically the *largest cost* for an entire event—take advantage of flexible dates. ☝️🏨 This means starting the planning process far in advance so you are not tied to any specific dates and can get lower rates. ✨

Throughout 2023 Compleat worked with St Christopher’s on 9 of their events! 💪 Challenge: They had an ambitious vision that came with internal time constraints and pressures. Compleat stepped in to support with pre-event preparations including registrations and on-site event management. 🏆 Solution: Online registration processes were put in place to manage multiple registration sites at once and bespoke attendee reports made monitoring attendee rates easier. The finer details were highlighted and carefully considered too. 📊 Results: Precious time of the internal CARE team was saved and the team were able to offer a calendar of highly successful events, reaching their target audiences. From start to finish, efficient preparations, good communication and an eye for detail ensured that all stakeholders enjoyed the events and left feeling fulfilled.
