Albert Einstein ❤️ Absolutely! And may I add: “the training of the mind to think is the passport to learning new concepts, mastering them for life, and applying them to real life situations when appropriate.” ▶️ Although I did not know Albert Einstein's words of wisdom when I started my teaching career in 1970--fresh out of college--it seemed logical to me that, once a student learns how to think for himself or herself, he/she will be able to understand new concepts easily. Asking themselves such questions as: "How does this work? Why does it work? What makes this work?" the students truly learn, truly internalize a concept instead of just learning it by heart and parroting it, then forgetting it quickly. ⏩ Throughout my teaching career spanning over 4 decades, the following teaching strategy helped numerous generations achieve success and reach their life goals and career goals: 🎯 1. I always began each class discussion with a thought-provoking question pertaining to the topic for that class session. My students were free to provide any answers that they thought were relevant. There was no penalty for incorrect answers, so my students were very enthusiastic about participating. If they knew the correct answers, they received bonus points ranging from 5 to 20 points. 🏆 5 points were awarded for a correct answer without any explanation, and 20 points for going to the chalk board and explaining the concept to their classmates. 📌 This activity helped my students to gain self-confidence, develop an interest in the topic, and, most of all, think about what? how? and why? 📌 Besides, a question at the beginning of class piqued the students' curiosity and stimulated their interest in the topic and the task at hand. 😃 It was so rewarding to see even the weakest students make the best effort to answer questions, and the priceless expressions of joy and pride on their faces when they could answer a question correctly were unequaled! ❤️❤️❤️ 🎯 2. Once an enthusiastic atmosphere had been established, we analyzed all the students' answers that I had written on the chalkboard. Training the mind to think critically and creatively is at the heart of education. By fostering skills such as problem-solving, analysis, and synthesis, educators empower students to navigate the complexities of the world. Through exposure to diverse perspectives and challenging tasks, students learn to question assumptions, evaluate evidence, and communicate their ideas effectively. Cultivating a mindset of curiosity and inquiry not only prepares individuals for academic success but also equips them with the tools to adapt and thrive in an ever-changing landscape. Thus, education becomes not just about acquiring knowledge, but about developing the capacity to think independently and contribute meaningfully to society.

Calmness might be a human superpower but learning how to shift from negative triggers to positive calm takes practice.
