Building on key themes of the upcoming 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York, we are excited to preview findings from our Representation Matters 2024 report, in partnership with Women Political Leaders (WPL), and The World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law initiative. The report explores how women’s political leadership drives economic and societal progress. Following 2023’s inaugural report, this year's edition delves into the relationship between increased women’s political representation and women’s economic rights. A keynote dialogue will feature Cherie Blair CBE (Cherie Booth K.C.) and Monica Geingos sharing their personal experiences and perspectives on leadership and ensuring women’s representation. A subsequent panel discussion with Arzu Rana Deuba, Michelle Harrison, Isata Mahoi and Francine Pickup will highlight additional perspectives, delve into our research’s key findings, and explore what’s happening across government, business, and society to enhance women’s representation in both political and economic spheres. Stay tuned for our key takeaways, and discover our 2023 report here > https://owy.mn/4cL1K8R #OWForum #WomenPoliticalLeaders #RepresentationMatters #WomenInPolitics #UNGA79 #OW4Society

The stories we tell can shift public opinion, fuel movements, and influence policy 💡 Narratives are not neutral — they either disrupt or reinforce current power structures. We need them to create a Post-2030 Agenda that not only addresses the challenges faced by girls and women but also shifts power into their hands, where it belongs. ✍🏼 Read our new piece by Rachel Elliott, Communications Advisor at Women Deliver: https://lnkd.in/er_Xybnx

An inspiring day at the House of Commons with Centenary Action and Cooper Parry ✨ We recently attended an incredible event as part of Centenary Action’s #Mission2028 campaign. The goal? Achieving a gender-equal Parliament by 2028 - marking 100 years since all women gained the right to vote. The event brought together MPs, business leaders, and campaigning organisations to tackle a key question: What needs to change to increase the number of elected female MPs? For us in business, it raised another important question: how can we play a part in making that happen - and why should we care? At first glance, this might not seem connected to financial planning. But when you consider the increasing number of women taking control of global wealth, starting businesses, and leading households, the connection is undeniable. Financial independence isn’t just empowering - it’s essential for driving meaningful change, especially for the next generation. We’ve shared our reflections on the event and the powerful discussions that unfolded in this blog: https://lnkd.in/e3aequdr #Mission2028 #GenderEquality #FinancialEmpowerment Cooper Parry Wealth
