Reflecting on an Incredible Internship Experience at ThinKuvate Venture Capital This summer, I had the privilege of interning at ThinKuvate Venture Capital in Singapore, working closely with the CEO, Mayank Jain. Over 3.5 months, I gained invaluable insights into how a venture capital firm operates and the intricacies behind each deal. During this experience, I had the opportunity to: - To create a comprehensive investor database, profiling more than 500 investors and their demographic information. This was a challenging task that became a personal project for me. The database has since become a “go-to” resource for the firm, aiding in strategic outreach and fundraising efforts. - Participate in investment analysis, firm screenings, due diligence, equity analysis, and portfolio management. - Witness six deals reach fruition; it was an eye-opening experience, which exposed me to the corporate negotiation and valuation framework of venture capital. This is the most significant highlight of my interning experience. - Join fundraising calls and screening calls with startup CEOs. - Attend a few Investment Board meetings, which offered me great insights into the strategic decision-making processes of the firm. I am deeply grateful to Mayank Jain for mentoring me throughout this journey and to Ghanshyam Ahuja, founding partner, for your support. Special thanks to my fellow interns, Suryaansh Sethi and Shraddha Praveen for making this experience enriching and unforgettable. I look forward to applying the lessons I’ve learned as I continue my journey in the investment world!

How can we support more underrepresented talent into Venture Capital? Talent from diverse backgrounds can be harder to spot. These are the same people who are often excluded from the typical prestigious schools and blue chip names by the same biases that limit them in VC. This means that the usual proxies for success - Oxbridge and McKinsey - can exclude equally smart, diverse talent. We’re overcoming this through our Future VC programme. We’re taking on a cohort of the best underrepresented talent, and providing them with the training and support they need to land an internship in a fund. They’ll then go directly into an internship with one of our member funds, so we know they’re entering an inclusive space. Since 2018, 50+ aspiring venture capitalists have gone through Future VC and into careers in Venture Capital. We’ve already had 1k+ applications for our 2024 cohort. If you’d love to take on a world-class, diverse intern, comment below and we’ll reach out to you.

🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 Dear Network, Today, I’m thrilled to start my final internship taking on the role of Investment Analyst Intern at Citizen Capital in Paris! 🇫🇷 Joining this pioneer impact-driven early-stage and growth VC fund is an incredible opportunity, and I’m eager to contribute to the team. A heartfelt thank you to François-Henri Champagne and the entire investment team for the trust and warm welcome! 💪 I also want to take a moment to reflect on my time at Zacua Ventures, where I spent the past six months in Madrid 🇪🇸 immersed in the extremely innovative #ConTech industry. 🏗 During this exciting journey, I had the privilege of working alongside visionary changemakers, addressing many of the industry’s pain points. Special thanks to the founders, Juan N., Mauricio Tessi Weiss, and Vivin Hegde, as well as the entire investment team—Victoria Smith, Margarita de la Peña Virgós, and Pedro Garcia—for their trust, mentorship, and the invaluable experiences they provided. 👑 I can only foresee a bright future for Zacua Ventures and its top team as they continue to tackle the challenges of construction. 😎 Now, I’m ready to embark on this new journey, helping to uncover the next generation of tech innovators 💎 while targeting pressing #social challenges and #ecological needs. Landing a Venture Capital job is notoriously challenging. There are few open positions in VC, and many are not advertised. Aspiring VCs struggle to get in the hiring process, prepare for interviews, and nail the case study. I talked to Felix Li, recently confirmed in a full-time position at the esteemed Luxemburg-based fund Mangrove Capital Partners, about his journey from a VC internship to a VC job. In our conversation, Felix addresses various topics crucial for anyone looking to break into Venture Capital—including understanding the nuances of the recruiting process, what it’s like to work in Venture Capital, and, importantly, how to best prepare for a career in this challenging yet rewarding industry. ▶️ https://lnkd.in/ewzTihc3 #venturecapital #vcjob #vcinternship
