Redefining the high-performance battery: 🔋 💡 This month, we introduced our revolutionary battery ProCORE18V+ with new cell technology. The world's first battery with tabless technology in the 18V segment increases the already high performance of our ProCORE18V battery series even further, resulting in yet another efficiency boost. Mischa Nicklaus, Head of Battery and Charger Engineering at Bosch Power Tools, provides a glimpse at what is behind the new cell technology: "The new battery provides up to 71 percent more run-time compared to the previous model." The reason for the increase? Tabless cell-technology – a new design of the lithium-ion cells inside the battery. "Cell technology is evolving rapidly right now," says Yvonne Schweizer, Segment Owner for Batteries and Chargers. "Today, cordless applications are possible that still seemed impossible a few years ago. We want to build on this development and bring our 18V batteries and tools to even more users around the globe." 8moMe and some colleagues tested them rigorously yesterday with the GBH 18V-40C: Non stop chiseling: +45% autonomy. GBH 18V-45C with concrete drill diameter 45 non stop drilling: traditional 8Ah went into thermal protection with 2 bars left, Procore+ went on until it was depleted (about double the runtime once again). Tested it on the GBL 18V-750--> around 40% longer runtime before it started slowing down in airflow. Total runtime about the same but the difference in airflow was impressive. Lastly we tested it with a holesaw dia 127 with the GSB 18V-150. Non stop drilling in Douglas wood (6.8cm thick) until it ran empty. Once again, around 35% more runtime... next few tests I´m going to do? GWS 18V-180P into I beam (cutting) and GWX 18V-15 PSC (Grinding away welds), GKS 18V-50 (cutting strips off of thick walled metal profiles). Im a massive fan of them for the hardest of jobs imaginable
