What sets high-growth companies apart from low-growth ones? The key lies in their approach to market dynamics. Low-growth firms often engage in fierce battles for market share within a single field, limiting their growth potential and risking profit erosion. In contrast, high-growth companies embrace ecosystems, fostering connected relationships that spark new opportunities. Purpose, not just profit, guides their strategic decisions. After leaving the food industry with PRO*ACT in 2021, Kristie Waters stayed connected with food industry leaders while expanding into the commercial and retail water management sector as the commercial leader with Leslie's. Those who navigated through the challenges of COVID-19 without private equity or selling their business are now seeking ways to elevate their operations. Kristie has observed that issues in perishable distribution—such as labor, margins, turnover, employee retention, and expenses—are universally challenging across retail, water management, and even technology sectors. Businesses aim to boost sales not just through mergers or inflation but by acquiring new customers and expanding customer penetration. In Jim Collins' book #GoodToGreat, he poses a crucial question: "Can a good company become a great company, and if so, how?" For those who have weathered the COVID-19 storm and want to sustain their momentum while pushing past the bell curve, the question becomes either, "Where do I want my business to go?" or "How can I ensure my team moves the needle on our five-year plan?" At Waters Advisory Services, we specialize in unlocking your company's potential. We assist businesses in developing a strategic, long-term sales vision that prioritizes people, processes, and technology.
