This is such a refreshing perspective! I completely agree—small spaces often inspire the most innovative designs. The point about multifunctional furniture is spot on; I've seen how a simple change like a wall-mounted foldable lamp or a compact, sleek table lamp can transform the feel of a room while saving space. Would love to hear your thoughts on lighting solutions for maximizing small spaces—what’s your go-to tip? 👍

What people in Dubai consider small, I find huge! This is what living in Mumbai taught me about designing for small spaces. Anyone living in Mumbai would agree with me when I say that in this metropolis, 2000 sq ft is considered a palace. Even my first-ever projects were tiny bathrooms and 1BHK flats. Naturally, I learned how creativity thrives within constraints. Those early projects shaped my philosophy about turning space limitations into opportunities for innovation. So when clients ask me for tips for interiors in a small space, I tell them: 1. The secret to small spaces isn't about living with less. It's about demanding more from every square foot. A multifunctional furniture piece, like a dressing table that transforms into a desk or a dining table that expands from 4 to 6 seats, is a lifesaver. 2. The most common misstep is designing for exceptions rather than everyday life. When clients say they need space for guests who come every month, I remind them that you can't build a room just for 15 days of use. Don't compromise your daily comfort for occasional use when you have limited space. 3. Living in Mumbai also taught me that no space is too small if designed thoughtfully. A client I worked with had a 700 sq ft home, but it felt larger than some 2000 sq ft apartments. Why? Simply because we ensured every corner served a purpose. 4. My golden rule is to design for everyday life first. Yes, plan for guests and gatherings, but not at the cost of your daily routine. The most successful small spaces aren't the ones that fit everything but fit the right things. Honestly, designing a small space does not mean limitations. It means innovation. At Padams, our team stays ahead of the curve by tracking the latest design trends to bring you innovative and stylish solutions. This year, we're excited to highlight the top trends that are shaping the future of commercial spaces 🌿✨ 1. Lighting evolution: With innovative lighting solutions, both the commercial environment and the functionality of workspaces can be improved. White setting up the large central light fixture for CitiCorp, the purpose was to provide a warm, inviting glow that evenly illuminates the space and the lives of the people. 2. Reviving Craftsmanship: We are placing a renewed emphasis on handcrafted details to ensure high quality and bring authenticity and timelessness to commercial spaces. By adding murals to the walls of the workspace, we are incorporating a storytelling element that resonates with the local culture. For instance, the mural of a Bharatnatyam dancer we added in Meesho workspace showcases a touch of cultural heritage, celebrating traditional Indian art and its intricate design. 3. Showcasing Materiality: This unique bottle cap installation acts as a tactile element to the interior, emphasizing craftsmanship and sustainability. By transforming everyday objects into extraordinary decor, this approach highlighted the potential of unconventional materials. For Pernod Ricard, we used their iconic liquor collection caps, to signify our client’s ambition to turn every social interaction into a genuine and friendly experience. Swipe to see how we’ve incorporated these trends into our projects #InteriorDesign #Workspace #BiophilicDesign #SustainableLiving #MultifunctionalSpaces #PadamsDesign #Designs #IndustryTrends
