Boston Consulting Group (BCG) In a constantly evolving world of work, companies must recognize that employees are not only resources, but also active agents who can significantly influence the success or failure of the organization. Companies will need to start finding alternative options for employees who know AI will replace part of their work days and be straightforward about the changes so employees can plan ahead of time.

It's interesting to read that employees who use GenAI regularly have increased concerns about their jobs, and only 30% of managers and frontline workers have received proper training. It is important to design a change management strategy to overcome the fear of falling behind and future uncertainty. Here we should work in two ways: design comprehensive training programs and acquire an open-minded approach towards GenAI, see this technology as a useful tool that could easily be used outside the realm of computer engineering.

For me in the first step it’s all about more time for Smart Work. Getting back more time for strategic and tactic tasks is key to get more time learning with AI Tools how to feed and prompt the AI Nucleus. That should be the first focus for huge companies. From there, companies / organisations will learn how to mass-adopt AI for several Use-Cases.

SME businesses are embracing a love for GenAI because it helps them compete with the enterprise companies. However, it's a two-edged sword for enterprise businesses because frequently duplicate positions can be eliminated once GPTs and AI agents are implemented. For example if there are 100 marketing positions, the proper use of GenAI may reduce the need for 30 of those positions.

Very informative and well put together. I loved the part where you mention respondents from Brazil, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and countries in the Middle East are more bullish and keener to accept GenAI. I believe that embracing transformation and technology is crucial for the advancement and development of human intelligence.

Another great article covering the impact of both AI and GenAI in the workplace. Instead of approaching such an implementation as just another enterprise-wide software project, like an ERP or CRM, senior management must ensure that the workforce is well-trained and able to anticipate the benefits and productivity improvements that can be achieved through a solid AI/GenAI implementation.
