US High-Speed Rail Map Shows Proposed Routes The first stage of the new network proposed by the USHSR would see construction focused around seven regions, including lines connecting Dallas to San Antonio and Houston, Chicago to Minneapolis and Detroit, and New York City to Washington, D.C. This stage includes the completion of the California High-Speed Rail, a line already under construction that is intended to run between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It also proposes a line linking Las Vegas, Nevada, to Los Angeles, similar to a line currently being built that will connect Las Vegas to southern California. https://ow.ly/jQBR50SCRQw

🚧 What happens if you close one of the busiest roads in Europe? M25 encircles most of Greater London 🇬🇧 – an area with almost 10M people. As the first in a series of ongoing improvement works, a stretch of motorway M25 between junctions 10 and 11 was closed last weekend. And it was nothing like the chaos predicted! 🛠️ Snapshots of HERE Real-Time Traffic data for March 16/17 around noon show congestion on diversion routes and close to the junctions at Wisley and Chertsy. Surprisingly, not that different to the week before, when the stretch was still open. 🛠️ Construction works continued throughout this week with the road opening hours ahead of schedule. Well done, National Highways and good luck for the rest of the project! 🍀 Learn more about HERE Real-Time Traffic: https://t.her.is/49bD8UO #locationintelligence #m25 #roadsafety #infrastructure

https://lnkd.in/ebCRiTvt I have just two questions: 1. Why not put train line as well, next to tunnel? 2. Why so long? This tunnel pay off itself in 5 years or so, easy. But no... In China it will be done in one year and moved on to the next project. One more suggestion, why we need to move earth, why we can't use spoil for Gravesend expansion in the river itself, like Holland doing? Why everything so complicated? Just don't...

In South London, significant upgrades amounting to £89 million are scheduled over Easter. This involves replacing trains with buses and implementing crucial improvements to the railway infrastructure. Upgrade Details South Croydon: Whyteleafe level crossing will undergo upgrades to enhance performance and prolong its lifespan. Balham to Beckenham Junction: Engineers will replace switches, crossings, and wheel timber, preparing for future signaling systems. Brixton Junction to Denmark Hill: Installation of a new signal gantry will support the modernization of signaling systems. Thameslink Statement A Thameslink spokesperson highlighted the comprehensive upgrade plan, emphasizing its role in modernizing track and signaling systems dating back to the 1980s. The closure period will also witness refurbishments of switches, crossings, and vegetation clearance along the lines. Hither Green Enhancements At Hither Green, embankment stabilization measures, including a 115-meter sheet pile wall, will enhance railway safety and reliability. Additionally, track refurbishments and ballast replacements are scheduled. Southern Rail Arrangements Lewes to Pevensey and Westham: Line closure necessitates buses to replace trains, ensuring continuity of service. Special Services: Limited train operations and designated bus services are arranged to mitigate service disruptions. Sunday Specifics Balham to Sydenham: Southern trains suspended, replaced by London Buses, with a special London Overground service operating instead. Purley Routes: Various route closures necessitate alternative travel arrangements via London Bus services. Thameslink Adjustments Denmark Hill Closure: Replacement bus services between Herne Hill and Bromley South are arranged, bypassing Nunhead and Ravensbourne stations. Southeastern Changes Saturday Service: Trains via Denmark Hill suspended, accessible buses replace trains between Lewisham and Sidcup. Sunday and Monday Services: Similar disruptions with alternative bus services provided for affected routes. Over the Easter period, extensive upgrades and necessary closures demonstrate the commitment to modernize and enhance railway services in South London. 🚊Extending the DLR🚊 TFL have proposed to extend the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Beckton Riverside and Thamesmead. Their preferred option is a cross-river extension of the DLR from Gallions Reach, with two new stations in Beckton Riverside and Thamesmead. What are your opinions of this project? TFL are asking for your input towards this proposal. Some questions to think about are: What should TFL consider as they progress with the project? (Regarding its whole lifecycle) What are the likely impacts of the proposal on local people (in relation to its whole lifecycle design to operations) What is the impact of the proposal on you as a customer? How would you want the design to appear when thinking about how the new stations could look and feel for you? Is building a new section of the light rail line the answer? Is it more sustainable to do thing or carry out an alternative option and why? Here are some alternative options that were considered: https://lnkd.in/eUEBZS8M The public consultation will be open until 18 March 2024, and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. To complete the survey, you need to register your email address prior. For more information on the proposal, and to participate in the survey, follow this link: https://lnkd.in/eAQd7j8x

Working with Supply Chain and Logistics leaders across Europe to optimise supply chains through consultancy projects. Our work is based on real world experience and focused on implementing tangible benefits.
A rare British Infrastructure success story. The Transpennine upgrade is ahead of schedule and under budget. 🚂 A project that has been planned since 2011 is finally seeing some significant progress in 2024 and due for completion in 2037 (down from 2041). Even if this is a success story, 30 years from conception to implementation. 🚂 I was disappointed when HS2 was scaled back. It shows a lack of ambition, long term planning and the true benefits (commuter and freight services) were never advertised. £100 billion to get from London to Birmingham a few minutes quicker is clearly not good value. 🚂 However, some of this money has been diverted to northern projects. With a routine £1.5 billion upgrade being turbocharged to £11.5 billion. Slashing times (by double digit percentages), increasing frequencies of intercity and commuter trains and upgrades to connect the Port of Liverpool with the East coast of England for freight services. 🚂 A number of significant step changes have been made to allow the project to come in under budget - new technology to feed electrical lines through an existing 18 tunnels; extending working hours from 5 to 7 each night (40% improvement in productivity); closing the line for ten days in one go, rather than 10 full weekends. 🚂 Most importantly, travellers are not told to just suck up the inconvenience. Trains are being diverted on to alternative lines during closures rather than no service or replacement bus services. Hopefully the start of a new dawn in British infrastructure project delivery! #construction #railways #infrastructure #supplychain #logistics #innovation https://lnkd.in/e_Z7xxdz
