🤩 Excited to introduce Marie Gérus-Durand, our first French speaker at this year's JMP Discovery Summit in Manchester!
🧬 With a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Marie honed her expertise working at Oxford University (UK) and CNRS (Montpellier, France). As Principal Scientist/Validation Engineer at Cerba Research, she is at the forefront of the development and validation of immunohistochemistry protocols for clinical trials, ensuring that they meet stringent regulatory standards.
📽️ In her presentation 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗢𝗘 𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘀, Marie highlighted the fact that the conventional OFAT approach (one factor at a time) is no longer adequate in the face of demanding requirements. Under Marie's leadership, Cerba Research is now taking a more innovative approach to protocol development using Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies, aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs without compromising quality.
🏆I particularly appreciate Marie's conclusion on the DoE approach, which can be summed up by Steve Jobs' famous phrase: 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗕𝗶𝗴 - don't hesitate to embark on the DoE adventure by starting small in order to convince (your manager, in her case), a DoE that can later be scaled up to face bigger challenges.
