Client Success Story: A Journey to Finding the Perfect Fit 🤝 At Bosun, we pride ourselves on being more than just a recruitment agency—we're a partner. Our commitment to culture over contracts means that we don't just fill positions, we focus on finding the right fit for your business, even when the path isn't always straightforward. A Challenging Search 🔍 One of our recent clients faced a unique challenge. Due to a highly specialized need and a limited talent pool in their geographic area, finding the right candidate was no easy task. Despite fulfilling all the terms of our contract—presenting the agreed-upon number of candidates—the fit just wasn’t right for the client at first. But we didn’t stop there. We understand that recruitment is about more than ticking boxes; it’s about solving problems and delivering long-term success. The Bosun Difference 🥰 Our team’s dedication paid off when we found Tara—a true gem. While it took time, we stayed committed to finding the best candidate for the client, no matter how long it took. As a result, Tara has become one of our best placements yet, and the impact on our client’s business has been transformational. The Result 🏆 Here’s what the client had to say about Tara’s addition to their team: "Tara has worked out to be one of Bosun’s best finds yet. She has fit into our business like she has always been here. Her experience in accounting has helped us get organized, and our books are now spot on. She is such a blessing to us, and she has become part of our family. Thank you for sticking with us and coming back around to find us the exact fit we needed. May God continue to bless your company!" The Takeaway 👍 At Bosun, it’s about more than just the placement—it’s about ensuring that each person we connect you with is the right person, regardless of the time and effort it takes. We’re here to support your business and help you thrive with team members who truly align with your values and goals. We’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us and for the opportunity to be part of their success stories. If you’re looking for a partner who values long-term impact over short-term results, we’re ready when you are.

“I’ve often heard people say that recruitment agencies only care about money, well here’s why I disagree” 💡 Yes, money is important, it’s how businesses survive. However, I believe that if you focus on genuinely caring for people and their careers, the money will follow naturally. I wanted to share with you a personal story that highlights why people come first: During the height of the pandemic, I was working with a start-up that needed to hire a Senior Project Manager, I found a fantastic candidate who was excited about the role. The company made an offer but due to the financial impact of the lockdown, they couldn’t pay the recruitment fee. The candidate, eager to start was at risk of being let down. • 🤝 I couldn’t let that happen. I believed in both the candidate’s potential and the company’s future, so I decided to proceed without charging a fee despite the financial risk. • ⏳ Seven months later, out of the blue the company reached out and paid the fee, which I genuinely didn’t expect! By then I had already offered the service for free because seeing both the company and the candidate thrive was far more rewarding. This experience reinforced what I’ve always believed: • 💡 While money matters, what’s far more important is how you impact people’s careers and businesses. • 🏆 Trust, integrity and investing in long-term relationships are what truly drive success. When you take care of people, the rest will follow. “Putting People First” isn’t just a strapline, it’s a core value that drives everything I do and I’m proud to live it everyday. 🌟 Have you ever gone above and beyond in your career, putting people before profit?

Always have a “Plan B”… I have been recruiting for nearly 20 years and during that time I have derived ONLY a very short list of advice that I can suggest with 100% certainty. Arguably the most critical and certain advice I can give to ALL clients and candidates is to ALWAYS have a “Plan B”!!!! For my clients: Most employees are “at will” and they can leave for any reason, at any time. I advise to build your teams with succession in mind so you have the next man/woman instantly on deck for promotion. I recommend to rotate talent and provide diverse career challenges so the next-on-deck will be ready to step up. Most importantly, I advise to arrange a relationship with the best recruiter in your industry/market so that when succession fails, you have a recruiter on call to launch a rapid search! A recruiter who knows you, and your company, can engage a search much more quickly than one you find on Google OR the last recruiter who left you a cold call. For my candidates: Your company can be sold TODAY. An executive change/restructure can happen TODAY. Your personal situation can change TODAY! Candidates who take calls from the best recruiters in their industry/location and those who build relationships can more readily flip the switch to begin a rapid job search. It’s also free to talk and it’s natural to want better for yourself and your family, so even if you are not in an active search mode, take an interview for a position that sounds appealing or superior to your current situation. Always have a “Plan B” as EVERYONE in the job market will inevitably need one at some point! My family’s “Plan B” was a little more fun than career plan changes, but we are pictured above in Florida. We were heading to the airport for our flight home from Spring Break and our flight was suddenly cancelled. We were 3 minutes from the exit for another Florida destination we had been talking about checking out in the future, so we quickly reacted and pulled off at this destination. We enjoyed lunch, rescheduled our flight for the next day, and got to experience the place we will now do our Spring Break next year. Flight cancellations are annoying, but our “Plan B” turned out just fine as we were prepared. Legacy Search Advisors would love to be part of your “Plan B” whether it’s for today, next year or just-in-case! Message ME or any of our Search Advisors today to start your plan! 𝗢𝘄𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁! 🤔 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. It’s a word that carries weight, yet it's one that some people struggle to fully embrace. In life — and particularly in the realm of careers — it’s a truth that can be tough to swallow. When it comes to recruitment, the concept of responsibility is often misunderstood or misplaced. Let’s start with job seekers. The truth is, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵, your next move, your future — 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. It’s your responsibility to shape it, to steer it in the direction you want it to go. Yes, a recruiter can guide you, offer advice, and support you along the way. But ultimately, you’re the one leading the charge. You set the goals, make the decisions, and dictate the rules of your journey. On the flip side, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. Crafting a well-defined role, creating a clear and compelling job description, maintaining a strong personal brand, and working on talent retention — these are all crucial tasks that rest squarely on the shoulders of the employer. And again, while recruiters play a pivotal role in this process, they are not the sole bearers of this burden. But here’s the hard truth: taking responsibility for your own career, or for your own team, is part of living in today’s world. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘆 — there are professionals out there to help, whether it’s career coaches, business consultants, or even therapists. But expecting recruiters to wear all the hats, to provide spiritual support, career coaching, and deliver outstanding results for everyone involved, is simply unrealistic. The role of a recruiter is versatile, no doubt. They are facilitators, connectors, and advisors. But they cannot — and should not — be expected to shoulder the full responsibility for someone else’s career or an organization’s staffing needs. The real magic happens when everyone steps up to own their part of the process. When job seekers take charge of their own paths, and when organizations take the time to define and maintain their roles, recruiters can do what they do best — 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. In the end, responsibility isn’t just about taking control; it’s about collaboration. It’s about recognizing that while recruiters are there to help, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. And when everyone embraces their role, that’s when the real magic happens.✨ 🤝 #recruitment #recruiterlife #careerpath #decisionmaking #teambuilding #advisor #coach #companion #letsconnect

Why Did You Start Your Recruitment Business? I never planned to run my own recruitment business. In fact, like many, I fell into recruitment 22 years ago. But from the very first day, I fell in love with recruitment ❤️—the excitement, the unpredictability, the highs, and the challenges. (Still love it today!) At 25, after travelling the world, Uni and working for Virgin in sunny Brighton, I moved back to the SW and wandered into Blue Arrow in Exeter, unsure of my next step. They offered me a temp role, and my curiosity got the better of me. Within six weeks, I was offered a permanent position, and my career was off and running 🚀. Things changed when I joined a boutique agency led by two inspiring women. The creativity, freedom, and fast decision-making sparked something in me. But after the agency was sold to corporate giants, the endless KPIs 📊, rigid processes, and corporate culture stifled my passion. I started thinking… why couldn’t I do this for myself? 🤔 I had big ideas: ✔️ Focus on value over vanity KPIs ✔️ Be a true recruitment partner to my clients and candidates ✔️ Build a business that reflected my vision So, I took the leap—and it was the best decision I ever made! Now, I’d love to hear your story. Why did you set up your recruitment business? Was it for freedom, creativity, independence—or something else? Share below! 💬👇

A recruitment agency's loyalty isn't about choosing sides—it's about creating harmony. While clients keep the business running, candidates fuel its purpose. A great agency ensures clients find the perfect match and helps candidates achieve their career goals. In the bigger picture, these roles often shift. Candidates become clients, and clients might one day seek roles themselves. It's all about fostering trust, balancing priorities, and building lasting relationships that benefit everyone involved.

A Journey of Growth and Connection. Working as a Recruiting Associate from home has been an incredible experience—both rewarding and challenging in ways I didn’t expect. My role is all about supporting the recruitment process, ensuring everything runs smoothly for candidates and hiring teams. It’s about details, follow-ups, and helping build connections. But working from home has added a new dimension to it all. There’s no office buzz to energize me, no in-person team huddles to spark ideas. Instead, there are quiet moments where I’ve had to learn to motivate myself and stay organized. And you know what? It’s taught me resilience and independence in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve realized that even behind a screen, the heart of this job is connection. Whether I’m coordinating interviews, updating candidate records, or answering questions, it’s about creating a seamless, positive experience for everyone involved. Every email, every calendar invite, every quick message is part of a bigger picture—helping people find their place and thrive. But what makes it special are the small wins: • Seeing a candidate smile during their final interview. • Hearing a “thank you” from a teammate who knows you’ve got their back. • Watching someone land their dream role and knowing you played a part in making it happen. Working from home as a Recruiting Associate isn’t always easy, but it’s taught me to focus on what matters—communication, organization, and empathy. And it’s shown me that even in the background, our work makes a huge impact. At HireSales.ai, we’re proving every day that building strong teams and meaningful connections can happen from anywhere. I’m proud to be part of a company that empowers people and drives results, no matter where we work. HireSales.ai 🚀✨

It’s been nearly a month since launching Richardson Recruitment, and I’m proud to have placed three candidates and brought on five new clients in my first month. While it’s been a rewarding start, here are a few lessons I’ve learned along the way 🚀 It can get lonely: Being self-employed means working solo, so staying connected and seeking support is key. Not everyone is your friend: In business, not everyone has your best interests at heart—navigate these situations wisely. Trust is earned: Be cautious with trust; not everyone will have your best intentions. Get an accountant early: Managing finances can be overwhelming—having an accountant early saves time and stress. Take time to think: Set aside time for strategic thinking and reflection. Set goals: Break down big goals into smaller steps to stay focused and motivated. Walk away when needed: Sometimes taking a break boosts productivity. Network: The logistics and supply chain industry is smaller than you think—strong relationships matter. Keep a routine: A daily routine brings structure and productivity. Organise your day: Segment your tasks for maximum focus Keep learning: Continue meeting people and gaining insights to grow. Embrace self-doubt: It’s normal—refocus and keep moving forward. Respect yourself: Don’t tolerate disrespect; ensure your value is recognised. Social media can be exhausting: Balance online engagement with personal time to avoid burnout. I continue to welcome candidates seeking new opportunities in logistics and supply chain and new business partners to support with national recruitment needs. My expertise spans a wide range of logistics and supply chain sectors, including international freight, transport, manufacturing, wholesale, 3PL warehousing, inventory management, supply chain optimisation, demand planning, distribution, logistics coordination, FMCG, perishables, and customs compliance on a national scale. I have ready-to-go candidates across all levels, from junior to senior, who can make an immediate impact. Reach out to sheniah@richardsonrecruitment.com.au or call 0424 720 836 for a chat!

💼 The Challenges of Leading a Recruitment Agency: Lessons from the Frontline 💼 Running a recruitment agency isn’t for the faint-hearted. As owners and directors, we wear many hats—strategist, leader, financial planner, mentor—and each comes with its own set of challenges. From my experience, here are some of the biggest hurdles we face and how we can rise above them: 📈 Balancing Growth and Quality It’s tempting to focus solely on rapid expansion, but scaling too fast can dilute the quality of service. Solution: Build scalable systems and ensure your team shares your vision for quality placements and client satisfaction. 🤝 Attracting and Retaining Clients In a competitive market, convincing clients to partner with you instead of going in-house or choosing another agency can feel like an uphill battle. Solution: Deliver undeniable value by specializing in niche markets and maintaining open, transparent communication. Consistency is key! 🕒 Time Management Between managing the team, handling finances, and driving strategy, there’s little time left to breathe. Solution: Delegate effectively. Trust your team with operational tasks so you can focus on high-level decisions. 🔍 Sourcing Top Talent Just like our clients, we also need top talent on our team to drive results. Recruitment agencies often struggle with finding recruiters who align with their culture and goals. Solution: Invest in professional development, foster a collaborative culture, and recognize achievements to keep your team motivated and loyal. 💰 Financial Pressure We juggle client payments, candidate wages (especially in temp recruitment), and operational expenses, often before the revenue flows in. Solution: Build strong financial reserves, negotiate flexible payment terms, and focus on high-value contracts for steady cash flow. 🎯 Staying Motivated Let’s face it—being the leader can be isolating. The pressure to keep everything running smoothly can take a toll. Solution: Celebrate small wins, network with other agency owners for support, and always remind yourself why you started in the first place. Despite these challenges, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. Leading a recruitment agency isn’t just about finding people jobs—it’s about creating opportunities, building teams, and leaving a legacy of success. To my fellow agency owners and directors: What challenges do you face, and how do you overcome them? Let’s share insights and grow stronger together. #RecruitmentAgency #LeadershipChallenges #Entrepreneurship #RecruitmentLife #BusinessGrowth
