In case you missed it: If you’ve been following RSI for the last few months, you may have seen advocacy efforts around the boxcar cliff ramp up. While the concept is far from new, the phenomenon of the boxcar cliff refers to the anticipated sharp decline in available boxcars, due to age and attrition. the early 1980s, Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation (SRC) in Springfield, Missouri, was a near bankrupt division of International Harvester. That's when a green young manager, Jack Stack, took over and turned it around. He didn't know how to "manage" a company, but he did know about the principal, of athletic competition and democracy: keeping score, having fun, playing fair, providing choice, and having a voice. With these principals he created his own style of management -- open-book management. The key is to let everyone in on financial decisions. #vogandwod #vogandwodbooks #vogandwodbookstore #Vogandwodannexstore #ikejabookshop #bookstoresinlagos #books #bookstagram #beinginspired #Thursdayreads #Businessandmanagement #Greatgameofbusiness #jackstack #readlearnknowgo

Charging what you're worth isn’t just about the time spent—it’s about the value and transformation you deliver. The right clients will see that.

I paid $800/hour at Legoland. For my son to throw basketballs. Not actually. But I did pay 20 bucks for him to shoot 8 balls... into a suspiciously undersized hoop. And on your 6th birthday, it doesn’t get much better than that. So what happened? He took all the shots in about 90 seconds. Which, at an hourly rate, works out at $800. But I paid for it. More times than I’d like to admit. And here’s the thing. I talk to service providers afraid to charge a few hundred bucks an hour. For expertise, they’ve often invested decades and tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn. So, friendly reminder. We are all ultimately ‘emotional’ buyers. And when you charge based on the 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 you provide. More often than not, you get paid what you deserve. By clients that appreciate the transformation.

Ray J. Green got me thinking.. Clients don't pay me for my time. They don't even pay me for the decades I spent accumulating this expertise. They pay me for the time that they can save and the increased certainty of results. So, they don't pay me for MY value. They pay me for THEIR value. If their time is valuable, it is worth more when they save it. If their business outcomes are valuable, it is worth more to increase the certainty. Thank you Ray for reminding me of this. --- o0o --- 🖐🏻 I am Raymond. Founders hire me to make their companies more investable. Do you want to: ➡ avoid unnecessary pain? ➡ look great to your investors? ➡ shave time off due diligence? ➡ eliminate risk and close the deal? ➡ get back to growing your business? 📞 If you would like to chat, just reach out.
