BOWDENS AGRICULTURE Yesterday, we hosted a cattle judging workshop for the Kandos High School show team, led by our Farm Manager, James, and Sara. It was a great chance for students to learn more about cattle selection, focusing on key traits to look for when judging and building a solid foundation in livestock evaluation. Students also practiced explaining their decisions in a public speaking session, helping them improve their communication skills and gain confidence. By working directly with livestock and receiving expert feedback, they gained insights that go beyond the classroom, preparing them for future careers in agriculture, whether in farming, livestock management, or broader roles in the industry. #bowdensfarm #agriculture #bowdenssilver #publicspeaking #cattlejudging #workshop

Everyone has a voice. (That's pretty much proven by me writing this post.) We can hear some of those voices in social media and each has an objective or an agenda. We also hear each voice in industry. In agriculture, those voices can be "heard" through organizations such as the American Farm Bureau Federation, Crop Organizations, Livestock Organizations and so on. These are all very important organizations as each crop, livestock species, equipment and so on have particular needs that should be addressed in a specific manner. But at what point should each segment-specific voice join together to become one industry voice? To speak for the agricultural industry as a whole? In the latest episode of Vision Tech Perspectives, we talk about agriculture speaking with one voice. Join us for the conversation. #VisionTechPerspectives https://lnkd.in/gDREGJE2

Hats off to Drs. Boyer, Cavasos, Greig, and Schexnayder on their journal article: Influence of Risk and Trust on Beef Producers’ Use of Precision Livestock Farming. Through an online survey of TN beef cattle producers, the study explores factors affecting the adoption of PLF technologies. Findings include the role of individual risk preferences and attitudes towards farm data privacy in shaping technology use. https://lnkd.in/e-rbCmzp #Tennessee #Research #UTIA #VolsTeachAg
