The second project in OSCRE’s Environmental Data Standards initiative focuses on water. Why water? Aside from the fact that a quarter of the world’s cities are facing shortages of clean water, the treatment and delivery of water accounts for 13% of total electricity consumption in the U.S., according to data from WINT - Water Intelligence. To be successful, efforts to lower carbon emissions by reducing energy consumption – a focus of state and local sustainability regulations – must include a water conservation component. That’s why many of the organizations that participated in the first round of our Environmental Data Standards initiative, dealing with energy, are back for this second round. But we need more and varied voices to make the water data standards that come out of this project as effective as possible. If you have an interest in water data management and would like to participate in this project, please contact us at info@oscre.org. You can find more information on the water standards project in our February E-News at https://lnkd.in/eUYsmX_9. #RealEstateDataStandards #WaterDataStandards #DataManagement

When we aren't talking about the Conference, we also have other events running too. Speaking of, have you registered for the member only (ALDE) Association of Land Development Engineers and Stormwater Victoria joint event "Are Drainage Schemes Still Relevant?" Melbourne Water has been supporting development with drainage schemes for decades, but have they evolved effectively alongside the industry knowledge base, technology, innovation, and overall need? Stormwater Victoria and ALDE are teaming up to bring our members an evening of productive discussion on how we can work together to improve the planning and delivery of integrated water management. The session is intended to be interactive, whereby you, our valued members will share experiences and test ideas around existing implementation frameworks (such as DSS’s, PSP’s and DCP’s), their current effectiveness and potential future role in supporting the delivery of IWM outcomes. Featuring a panel of industry experts in engineering, planning, law and economics, we will discuss the most pressing challenges of implementing IWM strategies in the modern development context. We will collectively brainstorm how we can work together to influence and improve existing regulatory processes and better support the delivery of Victoria’s Housing Statement: The Decade Ahead 2024-2034. For more information and how to register visit: https://lnkd.in/gBr4SJtM Note: This is a member only event. Please reach out to each relevant organisation on how to register for membership so you can come along and join the conversation.

Here is an amazing case study that demonstrates the power of Autodesk's Info360 cloud platform for Water. In the US, a water main breaks every 2 minutes, and 4.6B gallons of drinking water are lost every year through leaky pipes. Autodesk's Info360 Asset helps water utilities build a plan that evaluates those risks and prioritizes capital investments to address these issues and get ahead of these challenges.
Hear directly from one of our customers. Bonton Associates is using Info360 Asset to deliver new and unique value to their utility customers. “If you invest in SSES (Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey) condition assessment and level that up with risk-based analytics that we’re able to provide with Info360 Asset, then you have a compelling pitch. You’re not just raising your hand and asking for 5 million dollars. You’re saying this is why I need it, this is where it needs to go, and these are the specific risks and consequences that it’s going to help us address.”
