🫶 Equity, diversity, and inclusion work together and reinforce each other. Guiding our teams on how to build a more inclusive workplace is a priority for us in 2024 and beyond. As part of Broadsign's ongoing commitment to women's development in the workplace and a step towards creating a women-led Employee Resource Group (ERG) within the organization, we recently welcomed Jennifer (Tishman) Willey of Wet Cement to speak to our team about important topics like inclusion and embracing equity in the workplace. Jennifer shared some of her top tips for accelerating gender equity in the workplace, sharing insights for allies and leaders. Swipe through the slides below to find some of our takeaways. Steering our teams and having these necessary conversations is just a stepping stone. Though we've come a long way, we acknowledge that there is still work to be done. Today is International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate and recognize women and women-owned businesses that are focused on building up and supporting other women and girls. It coincides with Women’s History Month as we remember all of the trailblazers who’ve gone before us doing the same. Joining Borshoff many years ago, I felt empowered to discover my best self by being part of a women-owned business that not only helped its own team members to thrive, but also supported organizations that emphasize and uplift women, such as Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, Girl’s Inc., Culture Punch, NAWBO, Dress for Success and others. The campaign message for today is “Inspire Inclusion,” and I think it fits well with Borshoff’s commitments: -Creating a workplace that is diverse, equitable and inclusive -Eliminating bias from our hiring practices and creating a hiring process that is fair and equitable -Valuing diversity in all forms – race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability and socioeconomic status -Empowering all to succeed and thrive On this International Women’s Day, let’s honor the women who’ve paved the way and set an amazing example for us to follow, and let's continue to empower all to succeed and thrive! #inspireinclusion #wbe #womenempowerment

Anyone with a brain, heart, and soul knows women need to support women. Here on Long Island, women can’t afford NOT to support one another and I mean this in the most literal sense. We have the WIDEST gender wage gap in New York State so it’s clear if we don’t have each other's backs, no one will. ☝️ But here’s what I fear. ❗️Women supporting women is a thing we say we want but we don’t always do. I’m an optimist, so I don’t think it’s intentional but I do think it’s because we’re too busy with our heads down, glued to our desks doing the work and isolating ourselves. This exacerbates the problem because we need to build a professional community and connection so we can be trusted allies, open doors and act as street-cred-worthy advocates for one another. Men do this all the time. Ever heard of the boys club? I assure you, it’s not going away. Jackie and I feel strongly about women coming together, IRL, to connect, share, learn, grow, and inspire each other. That’s why we’re hosting The ReImagine Conference, a full-day immersive experience where women from all sectors of business will come together, right here on Long Island. It’s happening on June 11th at the Marriott in Melville. It’s where we will sow the seeds of change and create a future where equality for all women isn’t just a dream—it’s the norm.
