RAN South returned last night for the first event of 2025 👟 There are all kinds of run - recovery run, easy run, steady run, threshold run, long run, interval run, race pace, strides, even fartlek, but our events are none of those 🏃♂️ These monthly events are simply about running and networking with a group of like-minded construction and property professionals from our amazing southern region 🤝 It just so happens, they're great for wellbeing, mental health and, as you can tell from the smiles, they’re great fun too 🙌 Many thanks to all our guests for attending and well done for working off some of those Christmas calories 👏 #networking #b2b #connections #construction #property

Has maintaining your house become more of a burden than a joy? Do you wish you had more free time to travel and enjoy retirement instead of constantly tackling repairs and yard work? Downsizing to a smaller home or senior living community can provide the lifestyle change you need to focus on what truly matters. Here are some key benefits: • Less Space to Clean - No more spending entire days dusting, vacuuming, and scrubbing bathrooms. A smaller home means less time spent on weekly cleaning. • No More Yard Work - Say goodbye to endless mowing, weeding, and raking leaves. Many communities handle all outdoor maintenance. • Fewer Repairs - In a new or recently updated home, you won’t have to worry about fixing a leaky roof or replacing an HVAC system. • More Free Time - With your home’s upkeep taken care of, you’ll have more time to travel, visit grandkids, or pursue hobbies. • Simplified Living - Decluttering and organizing possessions can bring a sense of peace and order to your life. • Social Opportunities - Communities often offer social events and activities, helping you stay active and make new friends. While moving can feel daunting, the benefits of downsizing can greatly improve your quality of life. I’d love to help you explore your options and find the perfect next home. Moving On from a Stressful Experience..... Last week was moving week, and I'm thrilled to finally leave behind a chapter that had been weighing heavily on my mind. After only 10 months of living in Medway, our landlord decided to renege on her promise of a long-term let and the disrepair issues she promised to fix ( before we moved in) , we were forced to vacate our home. The experience was a rollercoaster of stress, with broken promises, disrepair issues (mould and a leak) , even mice infestation but the worst was living with our landlords furniture, we basically acted as a glorified storage unit for 10 months. But I'm relieved to say that the move has brought a sense of liberation and closure. As professionals, we often shy away from discussing personal experiences that can affect our work. However, I believe it's essential to acknowledge the impact that our personal lives can have on our professional well-being. Unfortunately, this ordeal has broken my trust in private landlords and estate agents. I've learned that it's crucial to thoroughly research and communicate with both parties before signing any agreements. I have also learnt, tenets are treated like scum, and as a tenant, you will never get the full truth. In my experience, estate agents often lack transparency and communication, which can lead to unnecessary stress. Let's take this opportunity to reflect on our own experiences and learn from them. Remember to prioritise your well-being and communicate effectively with those involved in your living situation. Lessons Learned: 🏠 Don't take things at face value when renting a property 🏠 Communicate clearly with estate agents and landlords 🏠 Prioritise your well-being and don't be afraid to speak up I hope this post resonates with some of you who have had similar experiences. Let's share our stories and learn from each other! #movingon #stresstips #personalstory #wellbeing
