#FeatureFriday Boys & Girls Clubs of America wanted to look at the out-of-school-time needs of youth ages 5-18 in Indiana and how well Indiana Clubs are fulfilling those needs. In Indiana, 68% of youth between these ages are in need of care because all parents are in the workforce which tells us there are numerous opportunities for Clubs across the state. They hired TCG for a project that had three major phases: completing a needs assessment, facilitating site assessments, and creating a 5-year strategic plan. Learn more: https://hubs.ly/Q02gbrZm0

This is really interesting. Something that in my opinion should have happened a long time ago. I wonder if this is only now in place because of the national safety valve that’s happening on the Isle of Wight? My question is, as a starter this is execellent. However, where is the person centered care? Where are the personalised, care and support plans coming from? Who is assessing developing positive behaviour support to ensure these school placements do not fail? Complex needs is exactly that, complex. No one child will be the same. Learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD are just a label they don’t tell you anything about the child or young person and how to support them successfully. #isleofwightcouncil #isleofwightsend #sendsafetyvalve #stopsafetyvalve #learningdisabilitynurse #advocate #pbs #personalisedcare #education #learningdisability #autism #iowparentvoice

"Your actions, big and small, are powerful in the life of EVERY child in your community." Seaseme Workshop has put together a "Room to Grow: Resources for Racial Justice" that classroom teachers and families can use to begin the conversations with young children. The resource allows adults to think about their own levels of comfort, and where they want to go in the development and support of children and families in their care! https://loom.ly/MrlGWuk Through the resource, you’ll discover ways to inspire little ones’ curiosity and wonder for the world around them by: 1️⃣Recognizing the important role that adults play in addressing race and racism with children 2️⃣Drawing upon families’ strengths 3️⃣Exploring ways to model kindness within communities. #Headstart #Headstartteacher #Headstartworks #Headstartprogram #EarlyHeadstart #EarlyChildhoodEducation #EarlyChildhood #getaheadstart #EarlyChildhoodeducator #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #EarlyChildhoodlearning #Ohio #Ohiogram #OhioEducation #OhioStrong #Ohiomade #UniteforHeadStart #NHSA #OhioHeadstart #OHSAI #FirstFiveYears

As a society, we must prioritize disability justice now more than ever. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and included in their educational environment. It's disheartening to hear about the recent incident at Aboyne Primary, where parents were offered class photos with or without children with complex needs. No child should ever be erased from history simply because their existence may be deemed inconvenient by some. Apologies from the council are a start, but we need systemic change to ensure that incidents like this do not happen again. Disability justice means recognizing and affirming the rights of individuals with disabilities, including their right to representation and inclusion in all aspects of life. It's crucial for schools, photographers, and organizations alike to actively work towards creating environments where every child feels accepted and celebrated for who they are. Erasing disabled children from school pictures is quite frankly disgusting. Let's use this incident as a reminder of the importance of advocating for disability rights and creating a more inclusive society for all. #DisabilityJustice #InclusionMatters https://lnkd.in/e6xdTMFT
