More than just a steakhouse, Porterhouse is dedicated to the memory of Ron Porter, a close friend of the group of partners who came together to form the concept. A South Bay local himself, Ron always had a passion for cooking and dreamed of one day owning his own restaurant. Following his first career as a fireman, Ron pivoted to real estate where he was immensely successful and made a deep, lasting impact on the community. Tragically in the fall of 2021, Ron lost a brief but valiant battle with cancer following an aggressive diagnosis only three months prior. When a group of Ron’s closest friends had the opportunity to open a new concept together, they jumped on the chance to finally give him the restaurant of his dreams. Today, Ron’s memory lives on in the community and at Porterhouse, where his fireman’s jacket looks over all who enter. Porterhouse is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the team. Someone who has built/implemented systems and can take ownership to build the business & streamline operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing top-tier guest experiences with an equally robust business/financial acumen. The GM should also have high-level knowledge of wine & spirits and ideally a level one sommelier cert. An impeccable floor presence, passion for training, and ability to forge lasting relationships with guests, staff, and ownership is essential. They aren’t doing a very good job with promoting it. I live less than 3 miles away and I’ve never heard of it until this post. Never seen it on Yelp! Nobody in my extensive friend group has mentioned it. No online social media mentions either, Resy/ Open Table. Weird. Menu looks great. Will have to check it out.
