Bradford Council’s Post

This week Master of Public Health (MPH) Students from the University of Bradford visited one of our Air Quality Monitoring Stations on Shipley Airedale Road to find out more about Air Quality in Bradford. The visit helped the students gain an understanding of the techniques which are used by the Council to collect Air Quality data and how the Council evaluates this data. Following the visit, members of staff from the Monitoring and Evaluation Team conducted a presentation to educate the students about what air pollution is, why it is important that we monitor and evaluate air pollution in the district and what action is being taken by the Council to help reduce air pollution. Wonder if they learned most AQ sites across the U.K. log and report some of the cleanest air for a developed nation on Earth. Worth noting CAZ’s are all about revenue generation vs the environment. Instead, we should be using AI with cameras or operate a smoky vehicle reporting system as I personally see horrific emissions from vehicles whilst commuting.
