Normalizing women’s participation in every field is vital for fostering inclusivity and economic prosperity. Our presence should not be exceptional, nor should we ever be statistical outlines. In this process, publicity and media play a pivotal role in spotlighting diverse female role models, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring the next generation. We need to make a concerted effort to reshape perceptions and accelerate progress towards #GenderEquality. #Inclusion #NoGlassCeiling #EmpowerHer #WomenInSTEM #GirlsInSTEM #BeOneOfMany https://lnkd.in/dkBkSJEF

𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 We often celebrate the achievements of the first or only woman in a particular field. But what if success looked different? This video really caught my eye this morning, sure it was released for IWD 2023, but the message is worth repeating for as many years as it takes. It explores a powerful idea: what if women in traditionally male-dominated fields were simply ordinary? 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: - Skill and talent are the true measures of achievement. - Opportunity is equal, free from the burden of expectation or the pressure to represent an entire gender. - We can simply contribute and be valued for our unique abilities. 𝗦𝗼, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀: 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗮𝘀: We all have biases, but being aware of them is the first step. Let's call out assumptions and promote opportunities based on merit. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀: Connecting experienced women with aspiring ones can provide guidance and break down barriers. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Work shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all model. Flexible options empower everyone to thrive. 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Ensure fairness and remove obstacles that hinder women's advancement. Let's work towards a future where talented women aren't outliers, but where they are the standard. https://lnkd.in/diEnSYFq #Equality #Diversity #BreakTheBias #EmpoweringWomen

Happy International Women’s Day! This year’s #IWD campaign theme – Inspire Inclusion – is perfectly aligned with #AppliedMaterials commitment to grow our inclusive and equitable culture, where we enable everyone to reach their full potential through inclusive behaviors. One of these behaviors is connecting our heads with our hearts. This means we have #empathy for others; that we build authentic connection. And we see the possibility in others, which can help us see that possibility in ourselves. Our largest global ERG (Employee Resource Group) is our Women’s Professional Development Group (WPDN), which has positively impacted so many of our employees and communities around the globe. I am proud of the great work we do at Applied Materials – including our ERG’s and the entire #brilliant, #innovative, and #talented community of women. When we inspire the world to value women's inclusion and contribution, we #MakePossible a better future. #AppliedInclusion #internationalwomensday2024 #ItStartsWithMe

I recognize that I cannot fully comprehend the experiences of being a woman in the world, at home, and in the workplace. However, as a husband, father (to two daughters), and leader of a technology company, I strive daily to ensure that all the women around me can enjoy their lives to the fullest. I express my gratitude to my wonderful wife (Andrea Bell-Chaniot) , even though I am aware that I cannot fully understand what it means to raise our two boys as great and respectful human beings. Additionally, I acknowledge that I lack firsthand knowledge of what it truly feels like to be a woman in the workplace. Therefore, I extend my appreciation to my amazing daughters (Juliette Chaniot, Chloé Chaniot), who work for reputable companies and provide valuable insights into the female experience at work. Furthermore, I want to thank my boss (Lyn Bird), who serves as an exemplar of transparency and respect for diversity. Building a trusted relationship with a female boss, in my opinion, is often easier and more beneficial than with male counterparts. I would like to thank Odette (Odette Sigler) who is my executive assistant, her life was not easy as related to male female relationships and now she has the courage to help others. Lastly, I am aware of my limitations, but I continually strive to learn and improve both at home and in the world. https://lnkd.in/eQa3V82j #InspireInclusion

Why does International Women's Day matter? As we approach International Women's Day (IWD), it's an opportune moment to reflect on its significance in today's world. This day reminds us of the importance of recognising individual achievements and the inherent strength every woman brings to society, transcending the confines of historical challenges and societal barriers. Throughout history, women have demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination, overcoming significant obstacles to secure their fundamental human rights and the ability to vote. Their stories are a testament to the human spirit and the potential for individual empowerment within our existing frameworks. Women's situation varies globally, but the universal principle of individual empowerment and meritocracy remains relevant. Whether fighting for educational rights or seeking representation in corporate and political spheres, the focus should be on enabling all individuals to compete and succeed based on their merits. International Women's Day serves as a powerful reminder of the strides made towards recognising women's contributions and the ongoing journey towards a society where individual merit and hard work are celebrated. It's a day to acknowledge the unique contributions of women, not as a collective group defined by historical grievances but as individuals who have the power to shape their destiny. This International Women's Day, let us recommit to promoting a culture that values hard work, merit, and individual achievement. It's about empowering every woman to achieve her potential, not through special accommodations but through her resilience, talent, and hard work. #InternationalWomensDay #Meritocracy #Empowerment #IndividualAchievement #CWInspireInclusion #IWD2024

On International Women's Day, we honor the strength and resilience of women worldwide. We celebrate trailblazers who broke barriers, paving the way for progress. Today, women shatter stereotypes, redefining what it means to be a woman in nearly every society, from business leaders to activists, leaving an indelible mark. We applaud our mothers, daughters, and sisters who juggle multiple roles with grace, the foundation of families and communities. Their sacrifices enable us all to thrive. While acknowledging women's achievements, we must address ongoing challenges: gender-based violence, unequal pay, limited access to education and healthcare, and body autonomy, even in the most advanced countries. There is still work to create a truly equitable society where gender isn't the basis of discrimination before the law or our own eyes. Let us stand in solidarity, empowering and uplifting one another. Support each other to break down barriers, pursue dreams, and build a better world. Together, we can continue inspiring change through our courage, determination and unwavering spirit. #internationalwomensday #womenrule #womenrock #wecandobetter #AlchemistCoach

On International Women’s Day, we come together to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of the remarkable and inspiring women within our networks and around the world. This year’s campaign theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’, which emphasises the importance of diversity and empowerment, in all aspects of society, not just for today, but for every day that follows. “It calls for action to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create environments where all women are valued and respected. Inspire Inclusion encourages everyone to recognize the unique perspectives and contributions of women from all walks of life, including those from marginalized communities.” Two ways in which we can do this are through: 🔷 Diversity in leadership and decision-making positions “Women, especially those belonging to underrepresented groups, continue to face barriers when seeking leadership roles. By championing inclusion, organizations and communities can harness the full potential of diverse perspectives, leading to better decision-making and innovation.” We are seeing some progress in the Legal Industry, with several women being elevated in the last few years to top positions at leading law firms, but there is still some way to go. 🔷 Education and awareness Both “play vital roles in fostering inclusion and empowering women. Through initiatives such as mentorship programs, educational workshops, and advocacy campaigns, individuals and organizations can create opportunities for women to thrive. By providing support and resources, women can be empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.” https://lnkd.in/eHfiAf-B #internationalwomensday #inspireinclusion

As a woman of colour navigating the professional landscape in the Netherlands, I've encountered firsthand the challenges that come with proving one's merits in a society where subtle racial discrimination persists, particularly for individuals like myself. On this International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, it's crucial to shine a light on the reality that while overt acts of racism may be less prevalent, the subtle biases we face continue to impede opportunities for women of colour in the workplace. Despite our qualifications, skills, and ambitions, many of us find ourselves confronting barriers that hinder our professional growth. It's often an uphill battle to showcase our talents and accomplishments, as systemic biases make it harder to gain recognition and advancement. In the Dutch work culture, these challenges manifest in various forms, from microaggressions to biased hiring and promotion practices. As a result, women of colour often find themselves navigating a landscape where our contributions are undervalued and our potential underestimated. My own experience echoes these struggles. Despite my efforts and dedication, I've faced obstacles that stem from biases ingrained in the system. It's disheartening to see how often my merits are overlooked or dismissed simply because of my race. As we commemorate this day, let's renew our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where women of colour have equal opportunities to thrive. By addressing systemic biases and promoting diversity, we can build a workplace where our talents are celebrated and valued, regardless of race or ethnicity. Together, let's break down barriers and create a future where every woman, regardless of her background, can achieve her full potential. #InternationalDayfortheEliminationofRacialDiscrimination #Womenrights #Justice #Equalrightsforall #ReslientRelations 🌈 👩 🕊
