Brain injury is viewed by many in the healthcare system as well as the general public as a one-time event with effects that become stable, rather than the beginning of a process of recurring or persistent effects that continue to change. Many brain injury survivors develop chronic symptoms that persist for many years after their injury. Ali Rheaume, a brain injury survivor and advocate, is sharing her experience living with chronic brain injury. Learn more about the chronic nature of brain injury here: https://bit.ly/43GjA9R

The Brain Injury Association of America is calling on Congress to save the programs in the CDC's Injury Center. If the Injury Center is not funded, the few programs that provide accurate, national-level data about brain injury and critical educational resources about brain injury would be eliminated. Yesterday, BIAA sent a letter signed by 37 other brain injury organizations to the leaders of the House of Representatives asking them to fully reinstate funding to the Injury Center. Read the letter that we sent to Congress here: https://bit.ly/4cS0nWC If you would like to advocate for saving these programs, you can join our letter writing campaign here: https://bit.ly/3Sdf8v4
