New publication! This one is for the brain injury researcher. We identify barriers to traumatic brain injury screening adoption, but more importantly, we discuss how we used a practical tool for pinpointing strategies for overcoming these barriers and potential mechanisms through which we think these strategies may work. https://lnkd.in/g-jtG357

March serves as a poignant reminder of the prevalence of brain injuries and the challenges faced by those living with traumatic brain injury (TBI) symptoms. In the United States alone, a staggering 2.8 million individuals receive a TBI diagnosis annually, while 1 in 60 people grapple with the enduring effects of such injuries. It's often said that understanding brain injuries is as unique as each individual affected – no two are exactly alike. Whether through MRI, CT scan, or other modalities, radiological imaging provides invaluable insight that guides healthcare professionals in delivering care to each patient's needs. As a collective community, let's unite in raising awareness about brain injuries, advocating for prevention measures – especially for those who may be more susceptible to falls or accidents – and fostering compassion and support for those navigating the challenges of living with TBI symptoms. Together we can move toward a more informed, empathetic, and inclusive society. #braininjuryawareness #preventionmatters #radiology
