QA Officer at STANDPHARM| Pharm D | Transitioning into Pharmaceutical Marketing | Bridging Quality Assurance with Market Insights
Hii there my LinkedIn family! I’m pretty much excited to share that I recently attended an insightful webinar titled “The Evolving Role of Community Pharmacists” and earned a certificate for my participation! (The Vital Role of Community Pharmacists) Community pharmacists are pivotal in the field of pharmacy, serving as accessible healthcare professionals who provide essential services beyond dispensing medications. Their evolving role includes: <Patient Counseling:>Offering guidance on medication use, potential side effects, and interactions to ensure safe and effective treatment. <Health Screenings>Conducting screenings for conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and cholesterol, contributing to early detection and management. <Chronic Disease Management> Assisting patients in managing chronic conditions, optimizing medication regimens, and improving adherence. <Health Promotion> Educating the community on wellness, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyles. <Medication Therapy Management> Reviewing and optimizing medication therapies to enhance patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. The insights gained from this webinar have deepened my appreciation for the crucial role community pharmacists play in enhancing patient care and promoting public health. Their expertise is indispensable in bridging gaps in the healthcare system and supporting patients in their health journeys. Thank you once again to Soha F. and RxConnect Pk for arranging such an informative and impactful event! #CommunityPharmacy #Healthcare #Pharmacy #MedicationManagement #PublicHealth #PatientCare #PharmacistRole #Webinar #ProfessionalDevelopment

FQHC Executive Coach | Former FQHC CEO | FQHC Business Strategist | FQHC Leadership Coach | I help FQHC CEOs and Leaders with Strategies and Tactics to Successfully Run Their Health Centers
It's 90% cheaper to retain a patient than to recruit a new one, so let's discuss recall campaigns. Recall campaigns encourage patients to return to your health center. My former health center successfully implemented several recall campaigns and reached out to individuals who met specific criteria by sending letters or making phone calls. A recall strategy ensures they schedule appointments, preventing gaps in care, treatment plans, or medication continuity. Some of our criteria: 1⃣ They hadn't been in for a year but were still getting prescription refills from their provider. 2⃣ Patients who hadn't had a routine checkup in over a year. 3⃣ Patients who hadn't had their teeth cleaned in more than six months. 4⃣ Patients with two or more chronic diseases hadn't been seen in 6 months. 5⃣ Patients whose A1C was higher than nine at their last appointment. Numerous other factors can prompt the recall of an existing patient, which can be highly effective in encouraging them to book an appointment. One effective method of encouraging patients to schedule another appointment is to have a clinical assistant, nurse, or clinical support staff member contact them via phone. Even if the patient doesn't answer the call and only receives the message, they're more likely to take action and schedule the appointment than if they had not received a prompt. Mail, email, and portal messages are also great ways to get information to the patient. These messages allow staff to provide more details than leaving a message, so they're an excellent way to communicate with a patient. Text messages are also very effective and can be sent using texting software to decrease manual staff time. Patient recalls are essential to keeping your patients returning. These strategies will improve patient retention and increase patient satisfaction. It'll also help your health center avoid losing money on missed appointments and ensure patients get the necessary care. #FQHC #CHC #PatientRecall #HealthcareEngagement #PatientRetention #EffectiveRecalls

**Reminder: Importance of Supervising Medication Management for the Elderly** When managing medication for elderly individuals, careful supervision is crucial. Here’s why: 1. **Monitoring Side Effects**: Elderly patients may experience side effects differently than younger adults. Regularly review and monitor any adverse reactions to ensure timely intervention. 2. **Drug Interactions**: Older adults often take multiple medications, increasing the risk of harmful interactions. Ensure that all healthcare providers are aware of every medication being taken. 3. **Handling Missed Doses**: If a dose is missed, follow the prescribed protocol. Generally, don’t double up; instead, take the missed dose as soon as remembered, unless it’s almost time for the next dose. 4. **Managing Overdoses**: If an accidental double dose is ingested, seek medical advice immediately. Overdosing can lead to serious health complications. 5. **Understanding Risks**: Be aware of the risks of severe reactions, including anaphylaxis or shock. In case of severe symptoms, seek emergency medical help. Consistent oversight and communication with healthcare professionals are essential for safe and effective medication management.
