We like to highlight the lengths that we'll go to film the best footage, and this is a great example. While being a few stories up in a little bucket may not be the most relaxing thing to do when you're not used to it, it was necessary to get the camera where it needed to be. Video gets you buy-in. My client hired me to make an IG Reel promo for a Galentine Event she will be hosting at her venue. Prior to the video, my client’s vendor contacts were hesitant to commit to the event date. As soon as the video was posted, those same vendors were DM’ing her saying “the date is available” and eager to be a part of it. All it took was some stylish wardrobe, props, confetti, a bunch of heart balloons, and extra patience with the kiddos. My camerawork and editing did the rest. Do not underestimate what a simple video communicates to your audience, clients, guests, partners. That glimpse into your bigger vision is all it takes to get buy-in. #videomarketing #videocontent #eventvideo #videopromotion #videoeditor

Be intentional with your misdirection. In one video I edited, there was a laundry list of services. I couldn't show ALL of them, but it was mentioned. B-roll, right? Yes, but I had to be careful. When one service is mentioned, I don't want the viewer to think the visual is referring to said service. Maybe it was, maybe not, maybe it looked similar. So to be clear about the sequence, I made sure to insert many shots that were clearly NOT meant to be corresponding to the service, but still made sense in the overall scheme of things. All of it then makes sense as a whole, without misleading anyone. It's a nuanced dance between the raindrops :) #videoediting #videomarketing

As much as we love going on location, there's something special about shooting a video on a sound stage. Nothing gets our creative juices flowing like a large studio and a green (or white) cyc. Come behind the scenes with me on todays informative video shoot. This time I have one presenter, stood up, talking to the camera. I’m using the bookcase as the background and as always I have a bunch of blackouts controlling the light coming in from windows and doors.
