Paralympic athletes show us the power of resilience, turning challenges into triumphs and defining what it means to be a champion. Inspiration flows from each Paralympic athlete, teaching us to conquer adversity and embody true winners. These athletes deserve the same recognition and respect given to Olympic athletes, especially cricketers. But will they be greeted with the same honors and rewards? As champions, they deserve to be brand ambassadors for major companies, yet we rarely see them associated with leading brands. Their images should adorn the walls of our stadiums and playgrounds, but they seldom receive that recognition. They have won more than three times the number of medals, yet receive less than 50% of the media buzz, including social media, branding, and beyond. To become a nation where sports are both a passion and a profession, we must value every athlete and strive for greater parity across all sports. Remember, the tournament is still on… let’s boost morale and welcome the winners and players with pride. “Champions rise in every arena; true victory is when we celebrate them all equally." #paralympics #sports #cricket #olympics #sportsminister #india #olympics #players #equality

Two defining moments for 🇮🇳 athletes at Paris 2024. Neither of them won medals in these events but they personified Indian athletes of today - Bold. Resilient. World-class. The fact that the world (not just India) took notice and acknowledged the incredible performances of both Sheetal and Vinesh, shows the level of athleticism they displayed. We now have enough resources being offered to our athletes where they can start winning at the Olympics/World levels BECAUSE of the system. But it takes a different level of ecosystem to almost manufacture these medals repeatedly. We aren't there yet...but we're getting there slowly and steadily. We, as sports fans, have a big responsibility too. We need to watch these rock stars compete and cheer them on social media, so that even they get the "visibility" that corporate sponsors look for. Did you watch the Olympics? Are you watching the Paralympics? Are you cheering for our champions? #Olympics #Paralympics #Paris2024

This is one for the books for every creative, marketing expert & people in the field of brand strategy and communication.
Winning Isn't For Everyone - Nike Olympics VS Nike Paralympics Seeing Nike's new Paralympics Ad which follows up on the Olympic 'Winning Isn't For Everyone' is a great example of how small executional changes can significantly shift perception The average Star rating for Nike on the System1 Test Your Ad database is 2.4 Stars Olympic Winning Isn't For Everyone = 1.4 Stars Paralympic Winning Isn't For Everyone = 3.7 Stars So what's changed? Have a look yourself below where I have put both ad's side-by-side so you can see the story and emotional response of the audience. The original is sped up significantly to enable you to see 90secs vs 30secs. Here are 4 main differences 👉 Relatable to Everyone - the Olympic version taps into the mindset required to be a winner and asks whether that makes you a bad person. It's a brilliant but somewhat uncomfortable truth about what it takes to win. On the other hand the Paralympic Ad takes a more obvious approach playing on the old mantra of 'isn't not the winning it's the taking part'. 👉 The Tale of Two VO's - Contrast the determined VO of the Paralympic Ad with the somewhat sinister Willem Dafoe VO in the Olympic ads. Voices create associations for us and the use of Willem is inspired but for some will have created images of the Joker in their mind. 👉 Uplifting Music From the Start - the Olympic Ad creates a peak end with the introduction of classical music at the end whereas the Paralympic one brings that in almost from the start. Music is exceptionally powerful at generating emotion and this will almost certainly have lifted the score. 👉 30 Seconds is Optimal - as much as I love the drama of 90 seconds the Test Your Ad database reveals an interesting fact that 30 seconds seems to be the optimal time length to capture attention and get your message across. To see for yourself I have include a link to the report for both Ad's here Nike Olympic Winning Isn't For Everyone https://lnkd.in/eWC2zdND Nike Paralympic Winning Isn't For Everyone https://lnkd.in/edC8BNUU For anyone interested these reports are generated every 24 hours after a new Ad airs on TV so if you want to see how yours has done drop me a DM Andrew Tindall Will Poskett Nick Bonney Kerry Collinge

Day 7 of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 is upon us, and India's performance has been nothing short of exceptional. The medal tally continues to climb, with an impressive haul of 3 gold, 7 silver, and 10 bronze medals at the end of Day 6 alone. This brings our total to 20 medals, already surpassing India's medal count from the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympics. It's been inspiring to witness the growing interest and recognition of Paralympic athletes. More people are tuning in, learning about their incredible stories, and appreciating the skill and determination they display. The YouTube Paralympic Sport page has been a valuable resource, providing free and accessible coverage of the games, unlike other OTT platforms. As the sporting landscape evolves, I'm hopeful that increased funding and improved training facilities will enable Indian athletes to compete at the highest level which is already evidently seen with the rise in performance and level of sportsmanship each athlete is showcasing, the signs are truly there that India is on the right track to be a powerhouse in sports. The nation's progress in the Para Asian Games, Paralympics, Deaflympics, and Special Olympics is a testament to the strides being made in India's sporting infrastructure and support. #ParalympicGames #Paris2024 #India #Sports #ParalympicAthletes #MedalTally

The Paris Paralympics are in full swing, and the athletes competing are nothing short of incredible. Yesterday, I witnessed a moment that will stay with me forever: an archery competition where an athlete born without arms used their feet to hold the bow and competed fiercely against opponents with arms—and won gold - congratulations Matt Stutzman! This level of skill, determination, and ingenuity is something most of us could hardly imagine, and yet, these athletes make it look effortless. From archery to blind soccer, the Paralympic Games showcase the remarkable talents of athletes who redefine the boundaries of what's possible. Watching the blind soccer teams navigate the field with such precision and coordination, relying entirely on sound and instinct, is both humbling and awe-inspiring. These athletes embody the very essence of resilience and perseverance, demonstrating that limitations are often only in the mind. Yet, despite their extraordinary achievements, Paralympians often do not receive the same recognition and viewership as their counterparts in the regular Olympics. This disparity must change. These athletes deserve prime viewing slots and the same level of global attention. They are not just competitors; they are heroes who challenge societal perceptions of disability and inspire millions around the world.
