Did you know? The word "restaurant" comes from the French "restaurer", which means "to revitalize". The first restaurants were places that served soups and broths, which were considered restorative dishes. If you are a non vegetarian family - keep 10 boiled eggs or chicken on your dining table when you eat dinner. Pick randomly and eat those first. Make sure your kids do the same. Then serve dinner. If you are a vegetarian family - do same with Stir fried Panner, tofu, some boiled chana and greens. Make sure you eat those first, your kids eat those first. Then serve your dal rice roti. Keep buttermilk and curd as well on the sides. Don’t keep farsan or namkeen on the dining table ever. These small changes in your dining habit will pay you in big in long term. #BELIEVEFIT #holisticwellness #NEVERGIVEUP #gratitude

In this fourth installment about places to eat in Split, I venture outside the city to recommend three very good dining spots worth the detour. While Split keeps developing the culinary scene, sometimes the best experiences are found a little off the beaten path. To be frank, these places are "off the beaten paths" only for tourists, not for locals. These selected establishments offer a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and also provide distinct culinary experiences that highlight the rich gastronomic traditions of the Dalmatian region, often focusing on one particular culinary tradition. Whether you're planning a day trip or simply looking for a memorable meal on your journey, these spots are well worth the effort. Here are three tried and tested places that I recommend: Konoba Vinko, Konjevrate – Located about 70-80 kilometers before Split on the A1 highway, just 7-8 minutes from the Šibenik exit, this konoba exemplifies traditional cooking with fresh, local ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere. They serve outstanding prosciutto, an extremely tasty veal risotto, and delicious roasted suckling pig. There is a large parking area just outside the restaurant, but be sure to call and reserve in advance to avoid disappointment. Restaurant Perlica, Klis – Known for lamb roasted on the spit, a Dalmatian hinterland specialty, Perlica is about 20 minutes outside of Split, on the way to the A1 highway near the Klis fortress. The best time to enjoy lamb is in early spring, and Perlica has secured its supply chain to ensure quality and consistency. With three or four lambs always roasting, you’re in for a treat. The service is consistent, and the wine list offers a few good choices. Konoba Nikola, Stobreč – Although the interior may seem a little outdated, Konoba Nikola excels in preparing seafood. If you enjoy shellfish, this place offers a selection like no other in the wider Split region. They consistently deliver fresh, well-prepared ingredients and a decent wine list with Dalmatian favorites. This place has a cult status among the wealthier residents of Split, making it challenging to secure a dinner table, especially in the shoulder months. #splitdiningscene #hospitality #restaurants #placestoeat

🔥 Campfire Fine Dining: A New Culinary Revolution? 🔥 Alright, let's get one thing straight—expensive restaurants don’t own the rights to gourmet food. Just because something is typically seen at high-end establishments doesn't mean it can't work splendidly over a campfire. • Fancy truffle oil? Bring it. • Imported cheese? Why not? • Freshly harvested oysters? Heck yeah. We need to shake off the assumption that exceptional ingredients and innovative cooking techniques are confined to white tablecloths and stuffy atmospheres. The wilderness offers its own enchanting ambiance, one that actually makes those flavors pop even more. Surrounded by the scent of fresh pine and the crackling of a well-built fire, your taste buds might never demand those overpriced kitchen creations again. Imagine this: 1. Crisp, smoky bacon-wrapped scallops sizzling over an open fire. 2. A delicate bouillabaisse simmering on a portable stove by the lakeshore. 3. Campfire char-grilled Wagyu beef—because why should Michelin stars have all the fun? It's all about breaking free from culinary cliches. Don't let the confines of traditional fine dining idioms stifle your cooking potential. The great outdoors is our untapped, rustic kitchen. You got your skillet, your bonfire, and nature’s backdrop. Trust me, that’s Michelin-level ambiance right there. 🌲🔥 Pack your essentials, gather those top-grade ingredients, and wow your camping crew with dishes they never imagined tasting outside a five-star restaurant. Let's redefine where gourmet magic happens—out there under the stars. Time to bring gourmet glory to the campfire! 🌟🍷 https://lnkd.in/emdgfXDV
