There are few corporate initiatives as important as creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. According to EY, Gen Z is six times more likely to identify as LGBTQ+ compared to Gen X, and with Gen Z making up 30% of the workforce by 2030, this underscores the growing necessity for inclusive policies in the workplace. While we celebrate and uplift the progress that has been made over the past few decades, we simultaneously acknowledge that we as a society have a long way to go in ensuring that every workplace embraces diversity, promotes equity, and empowers all individuals. Our work in this space inspires deep hope for what's to come. We see the tides of change growing stronger each and every year as forward-looking organizations take bold steps towards a future that celebrates everyone. #IgnitingBoldFutures #Inclusivity #PRIDE #LGBTQ

As the spotlight shines brightly on the LGBTQ+ community across numerous organizations throughout this dedicated month, we are poised to harness this momentum. Our mission extends far beyond the boundaries of a single month, and we must seek to avoid performative activism and instead cultivate an environment of inclusivity that remains permanent, transforming our workplaces and wider society. EDGE insights explore Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) by considering both gender and intersectional equity. By removing homogeneity and looking at an individual’s own and unique traits – we can expressly recognize the differences that determine how a person experiences their time in, and contribution to, the workplace. This underscores the importance of recognizing LGBTQ+ identities and how these shape the workplace experience. This month we celebrated #PrideMonth, a time to honour the LGBTQ+ community's history and resilience. But let's go beyond the rainbow and delve into the history that fuels our fight for equality. The Stonewall Riots of 1969, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ activism, were sparked by a courageous stand against police harassment. This ignited a movement for equal rights and acceptance, and continues to inspire us today. However, Pride is about more than just celebrating identity. It's about creating a truly inclusive environment. But how do we do that? a. Educate yourself: Learn about LGBTQ+ history, terminology and experiences. b. Challenge bias: Be mindful of unconscious biases and create a safe space for open conversations. c. Advocate for equality: Support LGBTQ+ rights and initiatives within your company and community. d. Be an ally. Speak up against discrimination and promote inclusivity. Let's celebrate the progress made and continue working towards a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to be their authentic selves; not just during Pride month but all year round. #happypridemonth #pride #lgbtq #lgbtq+ #loveislove #inclusionforall #stonewall #fridayfeeling

Our logo will not take on a rainbow tint this June. We might not make the bold posts you're likely accustomed to seeing during #PrideMonth. But that doesn't mean we don't stand in #solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. ✊ We've always championed continuous improvement. 🌈 In that same vein, we believe small acts of learning about the journey, accomplishments, and ongoing struggles of #LGBTQ can go a long way for redesign thinking. It's also how we can make workplaces more equitable for all. 🌎 That's why our work this year is more... introspective, you can say. 🏳️🌈 We believe that acceptance is more than a policy—it's a practice. This month and always, we stand with the LGBTQ+ community, ensuring our actions speak louder than our visuals. Happy Pride Month. ✨ #Pride2024 #PrideMonth2024 #LGBTQ #Inclusion #Diversity #Equality #HumanRights #LoveIsLove #Authenticity #Support #TogetherWeRise #BeYourself #Respect #Unity #Community #DiversityAndInclusion #StandTogether #LiveYourTruth #DEI #InclusiveCulture #Equity #Belonging #Empowerment

🌈 Pride Month Reflections: Better Late Than Never 🌈 As June slips into the rear-view mirror, I find myself reflecting on Pride Month and that I am in a job that can directly impact on diversity and inclusion. Over the years we've seen incredible strides made towards equality and inclusion. Although my message is a bit delayed, I believe it's never too late to celebrate and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. I believe Pride Month is more than just a celebration; it's a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for equal rights and the importance of creating inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive. Whether it's supporting LGBTQ+ colleagues, promoting diverse hiring practices, or simply educating ourselves on the issues that matter, every effort counts. Let's continue to uplift and support each other, not just during Pride Month, but every day. Together, we can build a world where diversity is celebrated and everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. 🏳️🌈💼 #PrideMonth #InclusionMatters #LGBTQ #DiversityAndInclusioninrecruitment #Eligorecruitment

Pride Month may be over, but the fight for inclusion and LGBTQ+ equality continues every single day. This movement, born from the Stonewall Riots – a courageous act of resistance against discrimination – reminds us that true inclusion requires constant effort. When LGBTQ+ employees can bring their full, authentic selves to work, everyone benefits - especially the patients whom we serve. Endpoints News recently celebrated Pride Month with its annual feature on LGBTQ+ industry leaders, including BMS's own Francisco Ramírez-Valle, MD, PhD, FAAD. Please join me in recognizing the impact that this year's recipients make for patients. See the full list at https://lnkd.in/emg2tbY4. Sadly, showing that the fight for inclusion is not over, one individual selected by Endpoints for recognition this year asked not to be included, citing safety concerns arising from the current climate that the LGBTQ+ community faces. Let's celebrate the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQ+ community, not just in June, but every day and acknowledge that the fight is not over. Together, we can create a more inclusive and successful world for everyone, but that will require sustained effort and focus. And to the industry leader who could not accept recognition for safety reasons, we support you. #Pride #Inclusion #LGBTQ+ #Authenticity #Allies

as Pride Month is approaching in many US states, the ACLU is tracking more than 515 anti-LGBTQ bills across US state legislatures. sadly, this is a new record. as a point of comparison, that’s nearly three-times the number of such bills introduced in 2022. with that, it builds fear and safety concerns within the LGBTQ+ community that spill over into the workplace. as Lily Zheng states, leaders and companies should commit and recommit to: ✅ connecting LGBTQ+ inclusion to their customer base, operations, and values. ✅ collaboratively design initiatives that benefit LGBTQ+ communities. ✅ taking a purposeful stand and defending it. please share and/or comment on this post for visibility. allyship and support go a long way, particularly in times like this. #humanresources #leadership #LGBTQ #pride #inclusion #community

Although great advice for leaders ahead of Pride month, these 6 key questions are just as useful when considering how to accelerate the impact of all ERGs.

🌈 Leaders, Your Role in Supporting Pride ERGs is Crucial 🌈 As we celebrate Pride Month, it's vital to reflect on how we support our Pride Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). To help with this, we have designed a toolkit. Cultivating connection and growing community across ERGs, both internally and externally, is important if we are to enable impactful change across our organisations and meaningfully partner with LGBTQ+ communities. By bringing LGBTQ+ employee network leaders together to knowledge-share and build, we can create the support networks needed. This can help us better understand how each group are navigating their own change journeys and help create more inclusive environments where all LGBTQ+ employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Click right to learn how you can best support your Pride ERGs. If you need help with building effective ERGs, comment PRIDE below or DM me. #PrideMonth #Pride2024 #LGBTQ #LGBTCommunity

As June is Pride month, we have reflected on our principles of inclusive prosperity and impactful change. While we are not experts in the LGBTQ+ space, we use our fundamental principles to guide our work in what it means to create inclusive, equal and safe spaces for all marginalised and vulnerable groups. This goes beyond changing the colours of the company logo for a month or decorating the shop floor. To create impactful change and inclusive prosperity, businesses should: > Make a public statement and commitment to creating inclusive spaces > Ensure you have inclusive policies and support channels for staff and customers > Engage with staff and customers to listen and learn about experiences, challenges and ideas for change > Be transparent about the change you make, share progress and learnings as well as celebrating success > Create partnerships with LGBTQ+ organisations to inform and guide your work and provide funding to the organisations. #pride #inclusivity #inclusivebusiness #LGBTQ+

🌈 Celebrating Pride Month at GS As we kick off Pride Month, it's crucial to recognise both the strides society has made and the ongoing challenges for the LGBTQ+ community globally and here in the UK. Globally, the top challenges include: · Discrimination and Violence: Daily threats to safety and well-being. · Legal Inequality: Many countries still lack legal protections for LGBTQ+ rights, with some even criminalising same-sex relationships. · Healthcare Disparities: Significant barriers to accessing appropriate healthcare. In the UK: While the UK has made significant progress since decriminalising homosexuality in 1967, challenges remain, particularly around trans rights and the rise in hate crimes. Higher rates of mental health issues persist due to discrimination and stigma, with the Black LGBTQ+ community facing even greater disparities. Disabled members of the LGBTQ+ community face unique barriers in accessing mental health services, compounding their marginalisation. Allyship and Advocacy: Pride Month is a time to celebrate, but also to ally with the LGBTQ+ community. Public sector leaders hold immense power in shaping societal norms, thus advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. Their allyship sends a strong message of acceptance and inclusion, fostering empathy and encouraging positive changes in policies and legislation. This Pride Month, GS is thrilled to release a series of interviews with inspiring LGBTQ+ societal leaders. Their insights will guide us in building a more inclusive and supportive society. It has been a pleasure to amplify their voices, so please look out for them! Happy Pride!! #PrideMonth #LGBTQ #EDI #DEI #Equality #Inclusion #Allyship #HappyPrideMonth #PrideatGS
"You can't be what you can't see." - Our LGBTQ+ affinity group co-chair, David Ward, articulates exactly what inclusivity means to us at GatenbySanderson. And while we are looking forward to celebrating #Pride this month - honouring the LGBTQ+ community within our organisation and the various public sectors we work across - we also recognise the ongoing journey toward equity needed. Which is why we will be sharing some incredible conversations with LGBTQ+ leaders across the Education, Not for Profit and Public Sector. Leaders who are sharing the journey they've been on personally in their careers, their motivations and strategies in dealing with any barriers and life under the spotlight. Plus, what they and their organisations are doing to foster inclusivity. Check out the full list of interviews, plus links to previous Pride profiles here: https://lnkd.in/eQ9pKkEg We hope that you're inspired by these conversations and they help to amplify actions and ideas that will contribute to positive change. #pridemonth #lgbtq #inclusivity #D&I #Leadership
