Championing Sustainability, Diversity, and Innovation in the Mining Industry | Executive Advisor at IWIM & Director at WIMARA (volunteer)
As you might already know I am loyal supporter of the Brisbane Broncos since the early '90s. Like 100,000’s of others, I've witnessed the exhilarating highs of the 90s and 2000’s and just last year, the challenging lows, and every year in between, that come with being part of such a storied club. This season, despite all of OUR collective expectations, it didn’t unfold with a finals finish. However, I firmly believe that it’s in these challenging moments where true character and resilience are forged. The cartoon by Brett Lethbridge in today’s Sunday Mail while humourous, captures a moment of reflection that resonates deeply—not just for our players and coaches, but it should be for all of us who stand by this club. It’s easy to be disappointed when things don’t go our way, especially after the high of last year’s grand final. Yet, I choose to focus on the positives: the moments of joy, the lessons we've learned, the growth we've experienced, and the unwavering passion that continues to drive every member of the Broncos community. In both sports and life, success is rarely a straight line. It’s about how we adapt, learn, and come back stronger. I have no doubt that our team will use this season as an opportunity to reflect, regroup, and refocus on what it takes to climb back to the top. Let’s continue to support our team whether it be your family, friends or colleagues—not only in moments of triumph but also when our resolve is tested. After all, it’s resilience that separates the good from the great, and I firmly believe the Brisbane Broncos are destined for greatness. This team has been a faithful partner to Havenwood for a long time. They've supported our mission financially, as well as generously given of their skills, expertise, and time. They are true partners, generous in every sense of the word and we deeply appreciate their corporate culture. We can learn some great lessons from corporations like Kendal King. 1. Communicate - knowing your charitable priorities for next year helps nonprofits be better stewards. Even if the news is disappointing to your nonprofit, the communication is a gift in itself. 2. Mutual advocacy- Helping your partner tell their story helps the partnership. Charities should have a basic understanding of your business and companies should understand the charities mission. 3. Transparency - The charity has the responsibility of being a partner the members of your company can be proud to support. We partner by celebrating the wins and sharing the disappointments. Thank you Kendal King for being a huge part of empowering single mothers and their children to move from crisis to self-sufficiency. We are grateful.
We had a great time at the Havenwood Golf Tournament yesterday morning! It’s a privilege to be a sponsor for this event supporting such a worthy cause. ⛳ 🏌️ Soapbox Influence ShopCart Creative

As a former competitive swimmer at Georgia Tech, I often find myself drawing fascinating parallels between practicing law in the courtroom and competing in the pool. Both arenas demand intense preparation, unwavering focus, and an insatiable drive to win. During my years as a competitive swimmer, every practice was an opportunity to hone my skills, build my endurance, and strategize for the next race. Similarly, in the courtroom, every case requires meticulous preparation, in-depth research, and strategic planning to advocate effectively for my clients. The precision and discipline I learned in swimming are invaluable assets in my legal career. Just like in a race, where every stroke and turn must be executed perfectly, every argument and piece of evidence in the courtroom must be presented with precision and clarity. Both settings require the ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and maintain a relentless focus on the goal. With the summer Olympics in Paris this year, I am reminded of the dedication and perseverance it takes to excel at the highest levels—whether you're fighting for justice or striving for gold. The Olympic spirit of pushing boundaries, overcoming challenges, and achieving excellence resonates deeply with me and inspires my work every day. I'm proud to bring the same level of commitment and determination to Brooks Injury Law that I brought to the pool. Whether I'm representing a client in a personal injury case or cheering on athletes as they compete on the world stage, I am driven by a passion for excellence and a desire to make a meaningful impact. #WeCareLaw #BrooksInjuryLaw #WomenInLaw #CourtroomToPool #GeorgiaTech #OlympicSpirit #PersonalInjuryLaw #DedicationAndDrive #CompetitiveEdge #ExcellenceInAction #olympics #paris2024 #TeamUSA

The trend of millennials moving to private golf communities, once unlikely due to declining interest in the sport among younger generations, is on the rise. This surprising shift gained momentum during the pandemic, with the National Golf Foundation reporting a record number of rounds played in 2023. Trending with this growing demand, Saltleaf Golf Preserve by London Bay has introduced an all-new public course in Bonita Springs, just a short drive from one of the country's golfing capitals: Naples, FL. Fully reimagined from its members-only roots as Raptor Bay Golf Club, Saltleaf Golf Preserve offers a public play, daily fee model, welcoming golfers of all ages to enjoy not just one, but two courses. While there, players experience the allure of the surrounding Saltleaf community, which includes a marina, nature trails, and 224 luxury condominiums at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Estero Bay. Could golf be the key to driving residential sales in the neighborhood? Keep reading The Wall Street Journal below:
