There is clear evidence that US efforts to build a coalition of allies in our region is directed at containing Chinese power and developing the capability to eventually confront the Chinese military. That scenario is a nightmare for Australia. We now find certain elements of a Labor government flirting with containment and confrontation with China - instead of openly seeking to secure peace and prosperity through dialogue and diplomacy. FIRST ACT OF ESTONIAN DIPLOMACY Today 104 years passed from signing of #Tartu Peace Treaty between Estonia and Soviet Russia. Consequently both parties were the first country to internationally recognise the other. Estonia did not become independent through a miracle, but through a lengthy war with Soviet Russia and elements of German Freikorps. Estonian forces were supported most by the UK. Tartu Peace Treaty led way for international recognition of Estonia as well as two decades of peaceful and prosperous development. There is an old Latin saying 'Si vis pacem, para bellum' meaning 'if you want peace, prepare for war.' 🇨🇳🇷🇺🇺🇦 China’s special envoy is again heading to Russia and Ukraine China’s special envoy for Eurasian affairs is heading off on another “shuttle diplomacy tour” to push for a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine, but observers say expectations are low. Li Hui will travel to Russia, Ukraine and the European Union headquarters in Brussels during the trip, which begins on Saturday. He will also visit Poland, Germany and France. Some say that war fatigue could create possibilities to negotiate a ceasefire.
