If your company doesn't reward you for loyalty, don't give it to them for free.
JOB HOP if you're not getting consistent raises and promotions. Every year you should at *least* be getting a 2-3% raise. Every couple years you should at *least* be considered for a promotion (often you will have to apply for it to be considered so make sure you're doing that). Otherwise you're getting paid LESS every year due to inflation. So if your company doesn't reward loyalty, don't give them loyalty. Getting the same exact job at a different company can get you a ~10% raise. Getting a promotion at a different company can get you a ~20% raise. Learning in-demand skills first and THEN job hopping can get you a life changing raise. By not going for more money right now, you're not just losing out on this year's potential bigger salary. You're also limiting how fast and how big your salary can grow in the future. This is your life, your comfort, your retirement. Go for it! #careergrowth #workersrights #jophopping
