Woodson is the man behind Black History Month. - It originated in the United States and has been officially recognized since 1976. - The month was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, two prominent figures in African American history. - Black History Month is a time to honor and celebrate the achievements, contributions, and struggles of African Americans throughout history. - It serves as a reminder to continue the fight for equality, justice, and inclusivity. - Many events, programs, and educational initiatives are organized during this month to promote awareness and understanding of black history and culture. - It's a time to recognize the important role that African Americans have played in shaping the world we live in today.
