Freshness in perspectives, detail in ideas and humility in admitting personal struggles is what I witnessed the #LASSI, Liberal Arts and Sciences Symosium organised by ScooNews. It was wonderful to hear the educators talk about music in stimulating neurons, aesthetics and art in stimulating interest in Sciences and Math and Philosophy in developing critical and ethical reasoning. I spoke about soul development by immersing deeper in the object of study and understanding one’s relationship with it. Active learning to solve problems requires multilateral perspectives and skills. Classrooms that can do this look like Socratic spaces, helping the learners with an alternate view and educators who listen actively and compassionately. Undoubtedly, this leads us to investing in T-shaped learning, something that might cause the pace of syllabus in schools to slow. The school leaders, teachers and university teachers of today are quite involved in whole child development which is a very encouraging trend. Purpose of education is being redefined as discovering of inner being for the learner. I do hope that liberal education permeates in all classrooms soon. Thank you Jacob Thomas for creating a stimulating space that inspires, Reena Gupta for sharing the stage, Vardan Kabra for the joyful ride and conversation, Anil Srinivasan for highly refreshing ideas and delivery, Neesha Bhakar for sharing the biggest idea for conscious capitalism in education and Ravi Santlani for continuing to create spaces for interesting dialogues.
Our co-founder Rahul Batra was at Good Shepherd International School last two days to speak about liberal education- ie the spirit of inquiry, scientific temper and humanism at school subjects, empowering students to be free thinkers. His main idea was nourishing souls by engaging in disciplines deeply and witnessing one’s reflexes therein.

One of my side projects is to upload and transcribe the seminars of a great American thinker, David G. Leahy, to YouTube. Many of you, even philosophers, have probably never heard of him or his work. But he is my favorite thinker and has informed my way of understanding and describing the DADA X technology that you see me share about here. David G. Leahy (1937-2014) was known for his concept of the "thinking now occurring." He founded the New York Philosophy Corporation where he taught courses elaborating his philosophy of the "thinking now occurring for the first time." He puts forth an "essentially new form of reason" where the rationality has exploded to fit the form of faith. And the "I" is absolutely constructing the world. He wrote several dense philosophical works expounding his ideas, including "Novitas Mundi," "Foundation Matter the Body Itself," "Beyond Sovereignty: A New Global Ethics and Morality" and "Faith & Philosophy." In Leahy's thought, there is no such thing as nothing, the Now is absolute, and the universe is infinitely flat. Yes, it's challenging! We have an online seminar a few times a year to discuss topics in the thinking now occurring. DM me if you would like an invite for the one coming up on October 19th, where the focal topic will be THE NEIGHBOR and I will be the session moderator. https://lnkd.in/gtb2vn_e
